What you will accomplish in this role

The Expanse Training Supervisor is responsible for oversight of training delivery and supervision of the training team on-site during the implementation. Due to the focus on Corporate team education and training, this leader requires an in-depth understanding of Expanse functionality; its capabilities, limitations, and impact on clinical practice. In addition, this position also requires a detailed understanding of clinician & provider workflow, and the coordination that takes place throughout a facility in order to support various workflows. This individual requires an understanding of adult learning strategies and awareness of strategic training delivery models.

Training Delivery

The Expanse Training Supervisor is responsible for direct oversight of training delivery and preparation during the Expanse implementation. They will collaborate with the Training Manager and Director of Education to ensure the trainers are delivering high quality training, ensuring delivery of end user demos, as well as providing oversight and delivery of Director and Manager training and Open House Events. This team member is expected to coordinate daily trainer assignments with the staffing office and pivot real time to adjust to staffing and work needs. They serve as an escalation point for the facility and other members of the Implementation team regarding trainer staff, contractors, and training. The resource oversees the trainers while they are on-site delivering training, supporting at the elbow, delivering web based or connected classroom training, and completing work assignments remotely.

People Management

This leader requires strong people management skills as they are responsible for leadership and oversight of a team of 15-20 Expanse Trainers. The leader is expected to support initial, remedial and ongoing education needs of direct reports, ensure competency training and completion, and support education delivery. They will provide leadership and direction for their direct reports and ensure consistent, high quality training delivery on-site.

Decision Making and Escalation

This leader is expected to make independent decisions around daily work assignments on site. They will be called upon to collaborate and communicate with facility and corporate leaders. They are expected to manage issues and situations on-site proactively and escalate for additional support or guidance as needed.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Create facility training assignments for Provider and staff training, facility demo rounds, go live support, and other on-site activities
  • Oversee staff delivery of training, both live and web-based, ensuring the highest quality of training
  • Oversee training delivery and preparation on-site to ensure high quality training and support
  • Evaluate effectiveness of training strategies and methodology, providing feedback to trainers and Education Director
  • Hold routine 1:1 meetings with staff members
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and real time feedback on site to members of the training team
  • Support trainer competency completion
  • Set priorities for team tasks and activities
  • Educates trainers on updates to training scripts and resources
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training strategies and materials, collaborate with Education leadership, and implement changes

Qualification you will need:

  • Associate’s Degree required, but Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in EMR or other Go-Live support
  • 3+ years of training and education experience
  • Ability to travel, work remotely in a home office environment, or in a facility
  • This role requires 76%+ travel

What will you be doing?

  • Responsible for serving as a territory business owner, the Territory Business Manager (Discovery Lead) will educate high-opportunity prospect HCPs on the disease state, risk assessment, and the medication to support patient identification.   • Demonstrate advanced ability to ask strategic, insightful questions to obtain information on customer needs from all stakeholders in accounts, using the insights to position current promoted brands and collaborate with customers on a customized strategy.

The incumbent will work in a highly matrixed, geographically diverse environment under general direction with clinical and sales teammates to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities by creating competency, comfort, and expertise with Abbott therapies among physicians, support staff and customers. The incumbent will perform work that involves a high degree of independence and will exercise sound judgment in planning, organizing, and performing work while continually seeking to improve territory efficiency.

What You’ll Work On

  • Identifies strategies to increase referrals of Abbott therapies and overcome barriers that are restricting the national growth and adoption of the therapies
  • Integrates into accounts, builds trust, and establishes strong rapport with with new and existing customers, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and industry leaders
  • Generate additional sales revenue in assigned region by running initiatives targeted at increasing referrals of eligible patients
  • Collects and studies information about new and existing products and monitors competitor sales, prices and products
  • Ensures prompt follow-up of sales leads, investigation of complaints, and timely completion and filing of standard reports
  • Fosters high trust relationships with colleagues including the regional teams and area leadership
  • Conducts evaluations and develops sales strategies for capital equipment opportunities within accounts
  • Coordinates implanting schedules of aligned Territory Managers and Clinical Specialists
  • Interfaces and interacts with patients up to 50% of the time
  • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by effectively managing consigned inventory used in the territory
  • Analyzes sales statistics, prepares reports, and performs required administrative sales duties such as filing expense account reports, scheduling appointments, and making travel plans
  • Exercises authority to make sales commitments for assigned efforts and is accountable for results
  • Attends trade shows where new products and technologies are showcased; meet other sales representatives and clients to discuss new product developments
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • 2 or more years of sales experience, preferably in the medical devices industry
  • Ability and willingness to travel within assigned area on a regular basis (% of travel varies by area)
  • Capable and willing to work an unpredictable schedule that may change on short notice
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels and to large groups within and outside the organization
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and accustomed to tight deadlines

Qualifications:

  • Ability to successfully guide customers as they navigate the sales process.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong amount of emotional intelligence.
