Lockheed Martin, a global leader in defense and aerospace, is seeking a Sr. Radar Systems Engineer to join our Engineering & Design organization. In this role, you will provide technical leadership in the research, design, development, integration, and sustainment of advanced radar systems that support critical missions for our customers. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will define radar system architectures, develop and analyze radar waveforms and algorithms, and guide the end-to-end systems engineering lifecycle from concept and requirements through integration, test, and field support. You will be responsible for translating customer and mission needs into system-level radar requirements, performing trade studies, modeling and simulating radar performance, and driving design decisions that balance capability, cost, schedule, and risk. You will collaborate closely with hardware, software, signal processing, and test engineers to ensure coherent, integrated solutions. Typical tasks include requirements development and flow-down, RF and signal-processing design, performance analysis using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, algorithm development for detection and tracking, and support to hardware-in-the-loop and flight/field test campaigns. You will prepare clear documentation, including requirements specifications, interface control documents, test plans, analysis reports, and customer briefings. You will also support integration and troubleshooting activities in lab and field environments, participating in anomaly resolution and performance optimization of operational radar systems. The role typically follows a hybrid work model, combining on-site work in classified labs, integration facilities, and test ranges with remote analysis and documentation tasks, depending on program needs and security requirements. Candidates should bring substantial experience in radar systems engineering or closely related RF/sensor systems, a strong foundation in signal processing and electromagnetics, and familiarity with relevant military and aerospace standards. A bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field is expected, with advanced degrees preferred for this senior role. S. security clearance, is highly desirable. Lockheed Martin offers competitive compensation, performance-based bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package that may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement savings plans such as a 401(k). Radar Systems Engineer, you will have the opportunity to shape next-generation radar capabilities, advance your technical expertise, and contribute directly to technologies that help protect national security while building a rewarding, long-term career in a leading aerospace and defense company.
