Job Details

We are seeking a Principal Solutions Architect who can operate as both a trusted technical advisor and a strategic growth partner. This role is ideal for someone with a strong hands-on background in Data Engineering or Solutions Architecture who has also succeeded in pre-sales, post-sales, account expansion, or client consulting environments.

What You’ll Do
Client Engagement & Growth

  • Build executive and stakeholder relationships within key accounts
  • Understand long-term business priorities and create technical roadmaps
  • Identify expansion opportunities where additional services or solutions add value
  • Partner with leadership and sales teams to grow strategic accounts
  • Lead responses to RFPs, RFIs, proposals, and solution presentations
  • Develop compelling business cases and technical value propositions

Technical Leadership

  • Architect end-to-end modern data solutions for enterprise clients
  • Lead discovery sessions, assessments, proofs of concept, and solution design
  • Guide implementations with focus on scalability, security, and performance
  • Mentor engineers and architects across delivery teams
  • Translate complex business problems into practical technical solutions

Required Background

  • 8+ years in Solutions Architecture, Data Engineering, or similar client-facing technical roles
  • Experience in pre-sales, post-sales, consulting, customer success engineering, or account growth
  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Strong coding skills in Python, Java, and/or Scala
  • Advanced SQL optimization and data modeling skills
  • Experience presenting to technical and business stakeholders
  • Ability to lead technical documentation, roadmaps, and architecture artifacts
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Kafka, Spark, Airflow, dbt, Fivetran, Matillion, NiFi
  • Experience with streaming, lakehouse, medallion, or enterprise migration initiatives

Overview

We are seeking a Manufacturing & Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Domain Architect with deep expertise across product lifecycle, plant operations, demand/supply planning, commercialization, and distribution.   • Lead architecture across end-to-end CPG value streams, including:

  • Guide cross-functional teams through adoption of AI-powered process modernization and autonomous operations.
Strategic Roadmapping
  • Build transformation roadmaps aligned to industry priorities such as:
    • Smart manufacturing & Industry 4.0/5.0
    • Resilient supply chains
    • Sustainability and waste reduction
    • Data harmonization and process interoperability
  • Develop multi-year strategies connecting operational KPIs—forecast accuracy, fill rate, OTIF, yield, waste, OEE—to automation and agent orchestration journeys.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 10+ years in Manufacturing or CPG, with strong domain architecture or process transformation experience.
  • Deep understanding of operations in CPG: production, materials, planning, commercialization, quality, logistics, and customer fulfillment.
  • Experience designing target operating models, data architectures, or modernization strategies within CPG or industrial manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of digital manufacturing, supply chain technologies, Industry 4.0 capabilities, and BPaaS or automation-driven service models.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, intelligent planning, digital twins, LLM-based orchestration, and decision automation (even if not hands-on).
  • Excellent client-facing communication and executive storytelling skills, especially with operational and supply chain leaders.
  • Ability to work with engineering, product, data science, and operations teams to translate domain needs into technical capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with leading CPG/manufacturing platforms: SAP S/4HANA, SAP IBP, Oracle SCM/ERP, Blue Yonder, Manhattan, Infor, Kinaxis, o9, Siemens, Dassault, PTC.
  • Familiarity with MES, SCADA, IoT platforms, and plant-floor integration.
  • Understanding of sustainability frameworks, carbon reporting, circular packaging, and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Exposure to consumer insights and retail execution data (IRI, NielsenIQ, POS-level analytics).

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this remote role is $149,500-$304,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. • Ensure transitions comply with applicable financial and insurance regulations such as SOX, PCI DSS, GDPR, GLBA, FFIEC, FCA, EBA, NAIC, and local regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate closely with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Audit teams to meet internal control standards and regulatory expectations.
• Ensure secure handling, access control, and protection of sensitive financial data and Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
• Act as the primary point of contact for business leaders, IT leadership, compliance, risk teams, and vendors throughout the transition lifecycle.
• Conduct transition governance forums, risk and readiness reviews, and executive-level status reporting.
• Ensure AMS teams are operationally ready with required access, secure environments, tools, and operating procedures.
• Establish and validate ITIL-based service management processes including Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management, ensuring segregation of duties.
• Define and manage SLAs, OLAs, escalation paths, and on-call support models supporting 24x7 financial operations and peak business periods.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to transaction integrity, system availability, regulatory compliance, and financial exposure.
• Validate disaster recovery, high availability, and resiliency plans to meet regulatory and business requirements.
• Define and manage entry and exit criteria for transition completion and steady-state service acceptance.
• Define, track, and report KPIs, SLAs, and regulatory metrics post-transition.
• Drive service stabilization and continuous improvement initiatives focused on availability, performance, compliance, and cost optimization.
• Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance assessments.
• Ensure creation, validation, and maintenance of audit-ready operational documentation including runbooks, SOPs, control procedures, and application support guides.
• Maintain documentation repositories and evidence required for regulatory and audit purposes.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Finance, Business, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 6–10+ years of overall IT experience with strong exposure to Financial Services or Insurance Application Managed Services.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience managing application transitions into AMS or outsourced support models within regulated environments.
• Experience working with banks, insurance companies, investment firms, or financial services organizations.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL-based service management and service transition frameworks.
• Experience defining governance models, control frameworks, and audit-ready service processes.

• Hands-on experience with financial and insurance platforms such as Temenos, Finacle, FIS, Fiserv, Guidewire, Duck Creek, SAP Financial Services, Oracle Financials, or similar systems.
• Strong understanding of financial and insurance business processes including payments, settlements, policy lifecycle management, claims processing, and financial accounting.
• Familiarity with data integration, batch processing, and real-time transaction processing systems.
• Exposure to cloud and hybrid architectures supporting regulated financial workloads.

• ITIL Foundation or ITIL Managing Professional certification.
• PMP or PRINCE2 certification.

Key Responsibilities

As a key member of our finance team, you’ll take ownership of a wide range of accounting responsibilities including:

Lead all accounting operations: AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger
Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements
Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting processes
Oversee external audits and liaise with auditors
Partner with leadership to provide actionable financial insights
Drive process improvements to streamline reporting and controls
Support financial aspects of contracts, grants, and vendor agreements
Supervise and mentor accounting staff
Conduct financial analysis to guide strategic projects

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
CPA required
7-10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or leadership role
Industry background in medical imaging, healthcare, or SaaS/technology strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and compliance
Proficiency in QuickBooks (or similar accounting software)
Experience with multi-currency consolidations
Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across teams
Must live locally and be able to reliably commute to our Newton, MA office on a hybrid basis
