You will perform software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities as both an individual and a member of our top-notch agile development team building a large complex enterprise system. Development includes the full range of turning Agile user stories into implementable concepts, through development, unit testing, integration and test, and deployment of the new capabilities for the large complex enterprise system. Following the Behavior-driven Development (BDD) pattern, developers are responsible for implementing robust testing leveraging DevOps automation and, where appropriate, use of test automation commercial tools. There are a range of opportunities for server-side business logic implementation as well as client web application and user interface (UI) development. Java, Python, embedded C/C++, Java cryptographic framework, XML, web UI (i.e., Angular, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, etc.) and special purpose device programming opportunities are available.

Primary Responsibilities

You will actively participate in daily stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Program Increment (PI) Planning, and other related team activities; analyze and study complex system requirements, use design software tools, provide support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and other accepted design techniques and will use sound software engineering principles to ensure that developed code is modifiable, efficient, reliable, understandable, fault tolerant, and reusable. You will provide software process management and control throughout the coding portion of the software development process and will promote code reuse and cross-program collaboration while reducing maintenance costs by creating common functions and shared actions for developers and testers. You will engineer, author, tune and document automation scripts in a development environment and deploy to the test/production bench.

Basic Qualifications

Must have a BS degree and 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted for a degree.

Must have demonstrated experience with Java.

Must have experience or familiarity with multiple Java frameworks: Spring to include Boot and Data, Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) (i.e., JPA, EJB, JTA, Servlet), Jackson, Jersey, Swing, JavaFX.

The Impact you will have in this role:

As we modernize our Middleware platforms, we are also transforming the way we deliver and support them. With a strategic shift toward 100% Infrastructure as Code (IaC), we are building a fully automated, scalable, and resilient delivery model. To support this evolution, we are seeking skilled Automation Test Engineers who can rigorously validate and certify our infrastructure code ensuring it is defect-free, reliable, and aligned with our IaC goals. This role will focus on validating middleware components (e.g., Tomcat, MQ, WebSphere) through automated test frameworks, ensuring configuration integrity, and supporting continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines

Your Primary Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for middleware platforms using tools such as Chef InSpec, Jenkins, Ansible and custom frameworks
Validate middleware configurations across environments (on-prem and cloud) based on infrastructure standards
Collaborate with Product DRIs, Automation Developers, and Infrastructure teams to translate requirements into testable automation scenarios
Maintain and enhance test coverage for regression, integration, and system validation across Tomcat, MQ, WAS, and RDQM
Analyze test results, log defects, and work with engineering teams to resolve issues.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog grooming and sprint planning.
Support Day 2 operations testing and readiness validation for middleware deployments

Qualifications:

Minimum of 4 years of related experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or equivalent experience

Talents Needed for Success:

3+ years of QA Testing experience with at least 2 years hands on Test Automation Experience
Experience using Java, TestNG, JUnit, and Selenium.
Hands-on experience with Git and Bitbucket is needed.
Thorough Understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
Proficient in all phases of testing including planning, design, execution, defect tracking, and reporting
Skilled in designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts using tools such as Chef InSpec, Jenkins, Ansible, and custom-built frameworks
Familiar with Git for source code management and experienced in setting up Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline test automation workflows Knowledge of automation standard and best practices including experience with XPath axes and CSS selectors
Should know the Defect Management using ALM and Agile/Scrum management through JIRA, Defect Triaging, Defect Status Reporting and Tracking
Develop, maintain, and implement functional and automated test scripts using Java and testing frameworks.
Sound knowledge of regression testing, Smoke & Sanity testing, compatibility testing, system functional testing, user acceptance testing etc.
Experience in build tools such as Maven, adding dependencies, maintaining pom.xml file is required.
Ability to write simple to medium complexity SQL queries.
Ability to interpret technical designs and specifications and design automated solutions accordingly.
