Leidos is seeking an experienced System Administrator to support autonomous maritime projects’ hardware stacks by managing and maintaining Linux-based systems in an on-premises system integration lab (SIL) in Arlington, VA. The System Administrator will be joining an existing team which has already successfully delivered for our customers and plan to continue their reputation of excellence. The System Administrator will focus on system configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring the security and integrity of Linux servers and workstations with little supervision. The team’s focus is on software and supporting hardware, including integration with hardware and sensors on multiple vessels. The Cloud Engineer will deploy, maintain, and scale hybrid cloud digital infrastructure for multiple Air Force customers. • Have at least five years of relevant experience in advanced network engineering and software automation, including software-defined networking, cloud infrastructure, observability, and modern routing/virtualization technologies.
• The ability to obtain an Interim Top Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Mid-level Infrastructure as Code Engineer who will own the design, implementation, and maintenance of customer IaC modules, CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure, and policy-as-code guardrails. Working closely with customer platform engineering, DevOps, and security peers, you will build reusable module libraries that enforce organizational standards, automate environment provisioning across AWS and GCP, manage state and drift, and embed security policy into every plan and apply so customer infrastructure ships reproducible, auditable, and secure by default. QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 to 5 years of experience building and managing cloud infrastructure using IaC tools (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or similar).
• Strong working knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) including networking, IAM, and compute services.
• Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).
• Proficiency in a scripting language such as Python, Bash, or Go for automation tasks.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (VPCs, subnets, DNS, load balancing, firewalls).
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS).
• Strong version control practices and experience with GitOps workflows.
• Must be located in the SF Bay Area or willing to travel to our San Francisco office on a regular cadence. NICE TO HAVE
