Vantor is seeking a Production & Data Sustainment Engineer to ensure the smooth operation of production applications and databases, including GIS systems, manage data pipelines, and maintain data standards across systems. The ideal candidate brings expertise in database management, application sustainment, GIS data handling, and operational support in medium to large enterprise environments, with the ability to adapt to evolving business and technical priorities. Responsibilities: This position is full time onsite in Reston, VA. Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot production applications and databases, including ESRI GIS portals and other enterprise systems. Support data integration and pipelines, ensuring accurate and consistent flow of information between systems. Maintain data standards and schema consistency across applications and databases, including geospatial datasets. Provide technical expertise in application and database sustainment, including schema management, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and connectivity components. Collaborate with development and operational teams to resolve technical issues and align sustainment activities with evolving business priorities. Develop and maintain technical documentation, processes, and best practices for sustaining applications, databases, and GIS systems Minimum Qualifications: ~ Current/active TS/SCI security clearance and be willing and able to obtain CI polygraph. ~6 years of professional experience in database administration or related field. ~ Bachelor's degree in Database Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. ~ Strong knowledge of RDBMS internals (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and database administration best practices. ~ Experience with data integration, ETL pipelines, or scripting (e.g., Python, Shell, Perl). ~ Familiarity with GIS data structures, ESRI ArcGIS portals, geodatabases, and backend connectivity components. ~ Strong troubleshooting skills in high-volume production environments. ~ Understanding of security, compliance, and operational best practices for production applications.
