Description

The SMIT Service Desk Tier I Team has an opening for an entry level technician to work in our Norfolk, VA office. This team provides Tier I technical software, hardware and network problem resolution for clients by performing problem diagnosis and guiding users through step-by-step solutions or may provide technical support issues for end-users of the organization’s products and services.

Primary Responsibilities

As a Service Desk Tier I Technician, you will:

  • Use automated information systems to analyze routine situations.
  • Review incoming requests, both computer generated and verbal, then sort, code and take initiative to prioritize tasks for proper action to manage time efficiently.
  • Resolve problems independently or collaborate with team mates to resolve issues. Escalates to next tier technical support as necessary.
  • Supports users by fulfilling individual requests for information and/or training in the utilization of the various databases available.
  • Instructs users in the use of PCs and networks.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills to quickly understand complex systems.
  • Work on many tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
  • Interact with individuals on all organizational levels.
  • Develop and strengthen peer mentoring skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent phone and email support with effective verbal and written communication skills.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent and 1-3 years general experience, or equivalent combination of experience and college level education
  • 8570 certification - CompTIA Network +, A +, or Security +CE
  • Superior skills in both written and verbal communication.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively document issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions implemented.
  • Understands NMCI internal structure, processes and tools.
  • Proficient with HPSM ticketing and Knowledge Management System.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Able to work assigned shifts as needed, including overnights and weekends.
  • Must have active interim or secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher in information technology, or related IT or equivalent work experience, or 1 year of experience on NMCI Service Desk.

The Database Administrator is responsible for managing all Microsoft SQL databases, related architecture, and supporting infrastructure across Golden State Foods. WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Monitor, optimize, and tune high‑transaction SQL Server environments to support business‑critical applications.
  • Collaborate with software vendors and internal application teams to identify and resolve query performance issues.
  • Configure, maintain, and administer SQL Server instances, Always On availability groups, and database security standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and document logical and physical database designs, including data dictionaries, schemas, and ER structures.
  • Ensure database integrity, availability, backups, disaster recovery readiness, and security controls.
  • Support ETL processes and BI tools that feed enterprise information systems.
  • Translate business requirements into technical data requirements and support database‑related project work.
  • Provide mentoring, cross‑team coordination, and knowledge transfer to strengthen team capability and best practices.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • 6+ years hands‑on experience implementing and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server clusters.
  • 4+ years implementing and supporting SQL Always On (2016/2019).
  • Experience with RedGate SQL Monitoring, Ola Hallengren maintenance scripts, and Brent Ozar SQL optimization tools.
  • Experience with Azure SQL Database administration.
  • Strong SQL query tuning, performance optimization, and database troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of ETL tools, BI systems, and data warehousing (Redshift preferred).
  • Ability to interpret and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Strong understanding of database security, encryption, access models, and backup/recovery strategies.

What you will do

Under specific direction is responsible for the sale of Johnson Controls service offerings to owners, primarily at the Director level. The Opportunity

The Senior Boomi SOA Developer is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and support of high-quality, defect-free integration systems and applications on the Boomi platform.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Design, build, and implement Boomi integration solutions (REST APIs, EDIs, XML, JSON, Flat file).
  • Gather and translate business requirements into technical integration specifications.
  • Work with SaaS and on-prem systems (JDE, UKG, SAP SuccessFactors, Azure D365, AWS Redshift, Lawson, etc.).
  • Provide architecture-level support, performance tuning, and reusable component development.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • 10+ years of experience designing and testing integrations (Boomi preferred).
  • Boomi certification required.
  • Experience with X12 EDI integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of integration patterns: ESB, ETL, SOAP/REST, MOM, JMS.
  • Experience with databases (SQL Server, Redshift, Oracle).
  • Experience with Java, Groovy, and JavaScript scripting.
  • Understanding of cloud/SaaS architecture and application infrastructure components.

This role is ideal for individuals who take pride in reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic while maintaining a professional presence in a fast‑paced, outdoor logistics environment.


Position Overview

As a Security Officer, you will help ensure the safety and security of our busy auto‑auction facility. You will work both inside a guard booth and outdoors on patrol, monitoring activity, assisting employees and visitors, and protecting client personnel and property.


Responsibilities
  • Ensure Safety: Observe and report activities, incidents, and any safety concerns on site.
  • Protect Property: Safeguard client property, vehicles, and personnel through active monitoring and patrol.
  • Maintain Vigilance:
    • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking
    • Climbing stairs
    • Navigating uneven or outdoor terrain
    • Working in various weather conditions
  • Physical Demands:
    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
    • Ability to climb steps and move throughout large areas of the facility
  • Compliance:
    • Hold a valid SORA card or be able to obtain one (company can provide guidance).
