Essential Functions:

The PCB Designer will design and create printed circuit board layouts from inputs received from engineering (electrical, mechanical). Job duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Place and route components ensuring that all electrical and physical specifications meet the specific design requirements for each PCB design.
  • Ensure that all requirements for manufacturing and assembly are met.
  • Develop and generate drawings and documentation to facilitate PCB fabrication and assembly.
  • Rework PCB designs when engineering design changes occur and assist the design team with ideas to resolve issues.
  • Perform drawing and documentation updates per the instructions of engineering change requests.
  • Create component ECAD library footprints and/or schematic symbols as required for design projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in PCB design, or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in PCB design. An associates degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and/or an IPC CID certification is desired.
  • Competent skills and experience with ECAD software applications and related equipment. Specific experience with Siemens EDA (formerly Mentor Graphics) Xpedition® software is desired.
  • Competent experience and knowledge of PCB design technologies, PCB layout techniques, electrical schematics, PCB fabrication and assembly drawings is desired.
  • Practical knowledge of industry standards such as IPC for design and ASME/ANSI for documentation is desired.

General Scope: To write C.N.C programs for new jobs, and to update existing programs when changes occur or new technology is available that would cause changes to existing tooling.

Position Summary:

  • To write CNC programs using the latest revisions or blueprints and to incorporate the newest tooling which requires updating older programs to double check all programs for errors.
  • To eliminate scrap and unsafe machine movements.

Education: One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge: Incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the current programing and software being used. 3-5 years’ experience with Mastercam and knowledge of inventor preferred.

Skills:

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
