Role Summary/Purpose:

Synchrony is seeking a Technical Staff Security Engineer to lead the design, engineering, and rollout of next-generation Perimeter Defense capabilities across a large-scale enterprise environment - supporting a major migration to AWS and Azure. Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in technical security engineering with a focus on Perimeter Defense

  • Deep working knowledge and experience with Cloud technology including AWS, and Azure to a lesser extent.
  • Proven automation skills using Terraform, Python, and API calls, to automate manual tasks in the deployment of security solutions and configurations during the company’s Public Cloud migration.

This is a vital position in support of critical software design and development. Candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the software development ecosystem and software pipeline and establish the SW factory and supporting tools.

Additionally, you will tackle reverse engineering challenges to discover solutions for hosting software in emulated environments. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring that our emulation tools not only meet current project requirements but also adapt to future technological advancements. Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies such as KVM and QEMU will be essential, as will familiarity with software development practices in GitLab. Understanding ARM, PowerPC, or x86 microprocessor architectures, along with common avionics data buses and interfaces, will further enhance your ability to deliver effective emulation solutions. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop FPGA solutions for embedded systems and industrial control systems (ICS).
  • Leverage FPGA design tools to develop, simulate, test, and optimize real-time embedded systems.
  • Shape and pursue external opportunities with U.S. government agencies such as the DOE and DOD.
  • Work with GE businesses to help transition real-time embedded controls and communication systems from early-stage lab demonstrations to fieldable prototypes.

Primary Responsibilities

Candidate will lead the design, development, and sustainment of health and status monitoring applications support advanced technology radar programs including development of software for high-speed data acquisition, distribution, and real-time processing; integration of COTS and custom technologies into prototype sensor systems; field testing of RF sensors and systems; deployment of advanced sensor systems; and development of health and status monitoring user applications.

In this role you will provide technical leadership and direction to a team of engineers, work closely with other skilled engineers as they deep-dive into existing software to find areas for improvement in both performance and processing latency.
