Responsibilities for this Position

We are seeking an experienced Technical Manual Developer to join our Technical Writing team in support of cutting-edge U.S. Navy submarine systems. The ideal candidate will bring 6+ years of full-time experience developing Navy Technical Manuals, with a strong emphasis on the use of S1000D, and a passion for creating clear, mission-critical documentation. Prior experience developing Submarine Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) for AN/BQQ-10, AN/BYG-1, or AN/BLQ-10 systems is highly desirable. In this role, you will develop Electronic Technical Manuals for advanced Sonar, Combat, Weapons, and Electronics systems designed by GDMS-documentation that sailors rely on every day to keep warfighting submarines operational in the harshest environments.

Duties Responsibilities:

  • Directing and assisting procedure development, troubleshooting, and maintenance in a Lab environment and onboard US Navy Submarines (very rare occasions).
  • Provide input and comments during reviews of draft and preliminary MIP/MRCs as needed.
  • Validate and test procedures during testing events in the lab, often requiring shift work to complete.
  • Develop operations and maintenance procedures for incorporation into electronic technical manuals using engineering source documents and gathering materials from engineering teams.
  • Support provisioning technical data packages for AN/BYG-1.
  • Develops training using MS Office products to support operations and maintenance training of the AN/BYG 1.
  • Use sound configuration management principles to ensure document configuration management is maintained.
  • Applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Develops electronic technical manuals to support O-Level operations and maintenance using principles of agile development.
  • Have a clear understanding of the agile roles and the agile mindset for rapid product development and validation.
  • Have an understanding of JIRA/DOORS or some repository of standards and requirements
  • Job may involve some travel to support Navy customers, which will be performed onboard naval vessels in port and at sea.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Experience using S1000D and publishing IETMs using the SIDD viewer
  • Ability to prepare documentation for delivery in a variety of formats (e.g. .doc, .PDF, HTML and XML/SGML-tagged online and IETM).
  • Familiarity with military documentation using current DoD specifications and standards including, but not limited to, MIL-STD-3001, MIL-STD-38784, MIL-STD-24784, and MIL-STD 40051-2C
  • Experience with HTML, XHTML, and XML.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams).
  • Ability to research unfamiliar technology well enough to describe and summarize for an end-user; must be comfortable asking questions and collaborating with SMEs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.

What You Will Do:

The Compliance Specialist serves as a centralized point of contact and collaborates with Airgas Regions, Divisions and businesses to prepare compliance related documents. Processes with a high degree of accuracy the following business based documentation; supplier questionnaires, quality, environmental, safety and compliance. Responsible for creation/maintenance of spreadsheets to maintain documentation received into a shared inbox. This person will work closely and cohesively with the SA Business Management team, as well as other internal teams in Airgas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists with processing, comprehending, and complying with compliance information as it relates to supplier qualification and questionnaires, to include government compliance documentation, based upon customer inquiries and third party requirements.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • EPA and OSHA Regulations

TECH-AGNOSTIC ROLE

Vision Point Systems, Inc. is currently recruiting for a Technician I to work at a customer location in Kaneohe Bay, HI. The CST technician provides support to the CST assistant team lead and team lead. The job description of a CST technician involves the completion of preventive maintenance, the ability to work well on a team, and strong problem-solving skills.

Position Description:

A CST technician inspects, assesses, categorizes, and services military and support equipment utilizing paper and/or electronic checklists. In addition, CST technicians are required to perform surface preparation and touch-up painting, apply corrosion prevention compounds (CPCs), and conduct routine maintenance on application equipment. CST technicians must have a working knowledge of all procedures, responsibilities, and billets within the CST.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a CPAC Service Technician:

  • Follow applicable safety procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Operate Corrosion Prevention Compound (CPC) application equipment, which includes compressors, application guns, grinders, vacuums, etc.
  • Apply CPCs on various types of military and support equipment as directed.
  • Accurately identify Marine Corps Corrosion Category Codes 1-5, the 4 stages of corrosion, and the correlation between category codes and stages of corrosion.
  • Perform equipment corrosion assessments using a paper copy of the Marine Corps CPAC Program Corrosion Assessment Checklist (CAC).
  • Perform equipment corrosion assessments using an electronic version of the CAC.
  • Perform surface preparation and touch-up procedures on military and support equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance of CPAC equipment.
  • Travel as required to perform the duties of the position.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid state driver’s license.
  • Hold or be capable of passing a background check to receive identification credentials through the Defense Biometric Identification System.
  • Possess knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Ability to take directions and perform corrective action plans.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Pay strict attention to detail.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Able to understand/follow instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work well on a team.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • During short-durations, CST technicians are required to lift to 50 pounds safely.
  • During moderate-durations, CST technicians are required to mount and dismount military and support equipment of varying heights safely.
  • During long-durations, CST technicians are required to work in outdoor weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, etc.).
  • During long-durations, CST technicians are required to wear and use company provided personal protective equipment (PPE), which includes but is not limited to: safety goggles, hand protection, and respirator equipment, etc.

Note: On a given day, CST technicians are required to wear either a dust mask or fitted respirator (depending upon the task performed) to apply Corrosion Preventive Compounds (CPCs) and/or Surface Preparation and Touch-Up Paint. The employer will ensure service technicians undergo an annual OSHA 1910.134 App A Quantitative Respirator Fit Test.

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, and/or a vocational degree.
  • At least two years of related experience (military or commercial) is preferred.
  • Prior military experience is a preferred but not required.

Within 60-days of hire, CST technicians are required to successfully complete CPAC certification. CST technicians must complete the Defense Acquisition University, Continuous Learning Module; Corrosion Prevention and Control Overview (CLM 038). Completion of this online course is required within one year of employment and before recertification.
