Job Overview:

Are you an elite European automotive technician? We’re looking for a highly skilled Automotive Technician with deep experience in vehicle flashing, programming, and advanced diagnostics of European vehicles to join a shop that values excellence, integrity, and continual growth.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform OEM-level vehicle programming, flashing, coding, and module configuration
  • Diagnose complex electrical, network, and drivability issues
  • Utilize factory and aftermarket scan tools for bi-directional testing and software updates
  • Reprogram modules following repairs or replacements (ECMs, TCMs, BCMs, ADAS, etc.)
  • Stay current with evolving vehicle technology, software updates, and OEM procedures
  • Collaborate with service advisors and leadership to ensure accurate diagnostics and efficient repairs

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience, with a minimum of 2 years specializing in European vehicles at a dealership or independent Euro shop.
  • Proficient with ODIS, VCDS, or equivalent diagnostic programming systems.
  • Proven experience with vehicle programming, flashing, and module coding.
  • Strong understanding of automotive networks, electronics, and diagnostics.
  • Proficiency with OEM and aftermarket scan tools.
  • Ability to research service information and follow OEM programming protocols.
  • ASE Certifications preferred.
  • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds
  • Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above their head
  • Work in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle’s needed repair
  • Have the needed dexterity in order to efficiently use hand tools
  • Walk/stand for the majority of their workday
  • Drive manual transmissions vehicles
  • Efficiently navigate a computer

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Export manufacturing data in both Gerber and ODB++ formats
  • Use of Valor NPI, Design for Manufacturing rule sets, other Design Rule Checking software

  • Working knowledge of military and commercial design standards, GD&T techniques, and overall producibility considerations related to electronic packaging

Calibration Tech 1 is responsible for the calibration, alignment, and orientation verification of electronic navigation devices. Our team in Space & Defense is looking for an Electrical Calibration Technician to join them. You will report to the Lead Process Engineer and will have an onsite work schedule in Blacksburg, VA.

To be considered for an Electrical Calibration Technician role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Associate’s degree in Electronics or Instrumentation (or equivalent Military experience) required. Other technical degrees like Mechatronics or Electrical associate’s degree may be considered.
  • Minimum two years of electronic and/or electromechanical experience at Moog or equivalent required.
  • Quality conscious, technical aptitude, and good dexterity.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation, bending, kneeling and prolonged sitting/standing.
  • Basic understanding of mathematics and tolerances.
  • Understanding of AC & DC electrical schematics
  • Comfortable competence using traditional PCs

As an Electrical Calibration Technician, you will:

  • Use and calibrate various electrical equipment such as soldering irons, multimeters, temperature devices, sensors, ultrasonic generators, oscilloscopes, frequency generators, and custom circuit testing boxes.
  • Correctly store, clean, and maintain tools and equipment; verify calibration dates/seals.
  • Repair and troubleshoot electronic equipment as needed.
  • Maintain working knowledge of logic circuitry
  • Learn how to use new types of test equipment and systems.
  • Plan and communicate calibration scheduling needs with managers.
  • Maintain thorough and detailed calibration records per QAP 3.1.7
  • Arrange and schedule external calibration services
  • Write and maintain procedures as required for complex calibration requirements.
  • Select and order electrical inspection tools.
  • Assist in training / cross-training of others.
  • Participate in the Continuous Improvement Process.
  • Maintain organized files, use Microsoft Office applications for various job functions.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Manufacturing / Calibration Technician reports directly to the Manufacturing and Calibrations Supervisor. This position is responsible for the manufacturing, assembly and / or repair of CRANE Nuclear diagnostic test equipment

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Acceptance and verification of receipt of parts and sub-components from Inventory

  • Manufacturing and assembly of CRANE Nuclear testing products, including strain sensors

  • Serialization of finished components and the maintenance of serialization log

  • Troubleshooting and repairing customer-owned and rental diagnostic equipment

  • Completing and submitting repair evaluation forms for customer equipment within 1 workday after repair evaluation has been made

  • Maintaining and updating manufacturing procedures

  • Establishing and maintaining a working knowledge of the QA manual and the QA aspects

  • Performing calibration functions

  • Performing testing of equipment

  • Establishing and maintaining a detail knowledge of diagnostic equipment

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Experience:

  • GED / High School diploma required
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years working with electricity and/ or electronic components experience
  • Must have excellent soldering skills
  • Ability to complete component level repairs on circuit boards
  • Intermediate level - Excel skills (data manipulation, validation, v-lookups, and pivot tables) required
  • Must exhibit high attention to detail
