The Principal, Trading Engineering job leads and advises the design, development and delivery of trading software initiatives that drive the trading operations. Compensation Data

The expected salary for this position is $144,000 - $210,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. Key Responsibilities
Software Development

Design and implement moderately complex software features within established system architectures
Develop and maintain services, APIs, and supporting components using modern programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or TypeScript

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field and 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience. May consider additional experience in lieu of degree.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, TypeScript)
Experience developing or consuming RESTful APIs or service-based architectures
Experience using Git and standard version control workflows
Working knowledge of software testing practices and CI/CD pipelines
Ability to work independently on defined tasks and features with minimal supervision
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Technical Leadership & Architecture

Leverage AI to analyze, modernize, and refactor large, complex codebases (e.g., Java, .NET, COBOL, C++).
Collaboration & Influence
Partner with product, UX, and platform teams to define features, user journeys, and developer experience goals.
Act as a technical mentor to senior and mid-level engineers; cultivate a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
Collaborate closely with research, data, and cybersecurity teams to ensure solutions are safe, secure, and aligned with mission needs.
Represent the engineering team in internal and external forums, contributing to thought leadership in AI and software engineering modernization.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years experience in software engineering, including significant experience at the senior/architect level. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Expertise in designing and building distributed systems, developer tools, or platform engineering products.
Hands-on experience implementing AI/ML systems or integrating large language models into production workflows.
Strong knowledge of agentic frameworks, orchestration tools, RAG, vector databases, API design, and microservices.
Deep understanding of software design patterns, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and cloud-native architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Strong coding proficiency in at least two modern languages (Python, Go, Java, C#, etc.).

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer who doesn’t just build systems—but reshapes how they are conceived, delivered, and trusted. Someone who pairs deep technical credibility with architectural vision, and who has the conviction to challenge legacy approaches when the mission demands more.

Leidos is seeking a Principal Software Architect to be a technical software lead for the Enablement Team of the Leidos SW Accelerator. The Enablement Team will manage a portfolio of short-term, rapidly evolving projects with a focus on significant improvement in the speed and quality of software development outcomes. This individual will be responsible for bringing the latest Leidos processes and tools to teams seeking its help. This will generally require the widespread adoption of AI assistance throughout the software development lifecycle, evolution to the latest software design and architectural patterns, and a relentless drive for automation and improvement. Successful candidates will have experience working on complex software implementations that are part of large-scale hardware/software systems and have demonstrated an ability to incorporate and teach the use of cutting-edge tools and techniques. Candidates should be comfortable working in Agile environments, including at scale, and have experience working through team and technology change resistance.

Experience with software development programs supporting national security customers in a classified and other highly restricted settings is required. The successful candidate will have a wide range of technical experience including mission software development, secure software practices, software architecture, DevOps, cloud technologies, and software validation. Boeing Defense, Space and Security is seeking DSP Algorithms Engineers (Associate or Experienced) to join the Space, Intelligence and Weapons Systems teams in El Segundo, CA ! Boeing’s Space, Intelligence and Weapons Systems oversees the company’s major commercial and government satellite and ground programs for communications, national defense, and other missions.

As a DSP Algorithms Engineer, you will design and develop state-of-the-art, space-based communication systems for commercial, civil and/or national security programs. You will be part of a highly-motivated team that works with domestic or international customers on their latest satellite systems.

Project assignments typically span the unit life cycle, from internal trades, concept studies and system definition, to satellite unit development and test. Candidates will belong to a systems engineering team interacting with customers, suppliers, program management, integration and test engineers, and senior technologists.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the El Segundo, CA, location.

This worksite participates in Boeing’s optional 9/80 schedule rotation. 9/80 is a rotation in which employees can work 9 hour shifts, 8 days per pay period (bi-weekly) and receive every other Friday off.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Designing and developing next generation RF and digital satellite communication systems
• Developing and verifying multi-rate, fixed-point signal processing algorithms
• Conducting performance analysis of signal processing models
• Performing waveform development and characterization
• Performing trade studies
• Supporting integration ant test of our payloads and spacecraft from unit level through in-orbit operations
• Supporting HDL-level design and verification
• Performing detailed system design and verification activities

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
• Education and/or experience in signal processing.
• Associate Level: Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience or Master’s degree
• Experienced Level: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience, Master’s degree and 3 years of experience, or PhD degree

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience working with ASICs or FPGAs
• Experience with performance characteristics of analog electronics or data converters (ADCs / DACs)
• Experience with digital/RF lab equipment (oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum analyzer)
• 1+ years of experience with Matlab and/or Simulink
• 3+ years of experience in digital signal processing or digital communications
• 1+ years of experience in systems engineering concepts (requirements definition, allocation, verification, architecture design and trade design)

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range for Associate Level $98,600 - $133,400

Summary Pay Range for Mid-level: $119,850 - $162,150
