Job Description

As a Lead AI Cloud Platform Engineer, you’ll act as a full stack engineer who builds and operates the cloud application development and hosting platforms for Allstate. You’ll have the primary accountability of owning, developing, implementing and operating Allstate’s Cloud platforms. As a Technology Specialist with expertise in GenAI Cloud Platforms, you will serve as a technical solutions expert within our AI solutions team, collaborating with strategic product teams to define their AI strategy and prioritize use cases that deliver business value through Google’s Vertex AI, AWS and Azure AI Services. You will split time evenly in executing operational tasks to maintain the platform and servicing customer requests; and engineering new solutions to automate the build and operational tasks. They will serve as pair anchors being advocates of paired programming, test driven development, infrastructure engineering, and continuous delivery on the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide in-depth expertise in GenAI on Azure and AWS cloud platforms to support and enhance technical relationships with clients. This includes delivering product and solution briefings, creating demos, executing proof-of-concept projects, and collaborating directly with product management to prioritize solutions that drive consumer adoption of Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Services, OpenAI, Agentic AI, Vertex AI, AWS Bedrock, AWS Sagemaker.
  • Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution using best practices on Azure/AWS/GCP AI.
  • Be a trusted advisor to our consumers, helping them understand and incorporate AI accelerators into their overall cloud strategy by recommending migration paths, integration strategies, and application architecture.
  • Leverage a strong understanding of product, design and business priorities to solve high impact, highly complex problems.
  • Provide thought leadership, innovative ideas, and deliver cutting edge technical solutions across engineering/product teams
  • Engages in conversation with consumers and collaborates with account and partner teams to drive and qualify new opportunities, understand key technical objections, and resolve technical blockers.
  • Champions the engineering practices and helping teams define and setup frameworks using Terraform and automation
  • Maintain and enhance existing Terraform codebase.
  • Coaches junior team members.
  • Ability to present ideas and solutions.
Experience
  • 7 or more years of experience (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of Prompt Engineering and AI open-source ecosystem.
  • Experience and skills with Azure Application and AI services.
  • Experience with AWS bedrock(Preferred)
  • Experience with Vertex AI (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of consuming large language model (LLM) and Foundational model APIs.

Job Description

The Allstate’s Data & Analytics Technology organization is seeking a Machine Learning Platform Lead Engineer to architect, build, and scale the core platforms that power enterprise-wide machine learning solutions. In this role, you will provide deep technical leadership across ML infrastructure, MLOps automation, model deployment systems, and cloud-native engineering.

You will influence platform strategy, guide architectural decisions, and collaborate closely with data science, engineering, security, and product teams to enable reliable, scalable, and responsible ML adoption across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead for ML platform architecture, guiding system design, scalability, performance, and reliability across platform components.
  • Architect and build core ML platform services, including training and compute infrastructure, feature stores, model registries, inference runtimes, and data pipelines.
  • Drive architectural decisions for distributed systems, cloud‑native frameworks, and automated MLOps workflows that support enterprise-scale machine learning.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging ML platform technologies, tools, and best practices to continuously strengthen platform capabilities.

  • Work closely with security, compliance, and governance teams to ensure safe and compliant deployment of AI/ML solutions.

Required Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in ML engineering, platform engineering, or large-scale distributed systems.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with MLOps tools, ML frameworks, model deployment techniques, and ML lifecycle automation.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and backend development for machine learning systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and ML services, including Azure ML Studio, AWS SageMaker, and/or Google Vertex AI.
  • Exposure to cloud storage/data such as Azure Fabric/OneLake, AWS S3, and Google Cloud Storage (GCS).
  • Experience with cloud-native scanning and security tools such as Azure Defender, Microsoft Purview, AWS Security Hub, Amazon Inspector, GCP Security Command Center, or equivalent services.
  • Strong understanding of technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Terraform/Infrastructure-as-Code, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of system design, APIs, data pipelines, and scalable ML infrastructure patterns.
  • Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and influence cross‑team engineering decisions.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
• Prepares and reviews accounting statements on behalf of clients.
• Assists in working with auditors and clients to ensure statements are accurately produced and verified on a timely basis.

The CSA will support Growth, Capture, and Customer Engagement by serving as the lead software architect for priority captures and proposals, including shaping differentiated, architecture-led solutions and defining technical baselines and solution roadmaps.  The CSA will engage directly with IC and DoD customers to influence requirements and architectures and demonstrate mission-ready platforms and prototypes.   • Assist senior developers in the design, development, and testing of MCP server components and tools using Python.
