Summary

Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is looking for a Systems Engineer to support the Joint Training Synthetic Environment (JTSE), JLVC Modernization effort - Joint Staff J7(JS J-7) contract at our Suffolk, VA Joint Staff Complex.

What You Will Do

• Integrate, configure, and deploy federation components within a TS enclave, including protocol bridges, simulation controllers, and data interoperability tools
• Engineer and maintain systems supporting simulation services such as:

• HLA federation communication and RTI-based interactions
• Simulation display and control systems
• Terrain & geospatial data services (WMS, 3D models, raster/vector)
  • Support implementation and enhancement of Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) for secure TS-SIPR data transfer
  • Work with developers to adapt tools for TS compliance, including data tagging, secure message protocols, and required security banners/labels
  • Provide infrastructure engineering across development, staging, and production TS environments
  • Support deployment and integration of new capabilities from the development pipeline
  • Participate in DevSecOps workflows, contributing to integration, testing, accreditation, and release cycles
  • Work closely with cybersecurity teams to ensure RMF, STIG, and other compliance requirements are met
  • Support test, validation, performance, and interoperability events
  • Troubleshoot distributed systems and provide timely resolutions
  • Document architectures, configurations, and operational processes

What You Must Have

• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• Must have an active TS/SCI Clearance
• Distributed systems experience: configuring, integrating, and troubleshooting multi node systems and networked environments
• Experience with HLA or similar M&S frameworks: understanding federation concepts, RTI communication, and FOM/SOM basics
• Experience working in secure or classified environments and familiarity with TS or SIPR networks
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of DevSecOps and CI/CD practices, including automated build and test processes, effective version control usage, and secure deployment methodologies.
• Cybersecurity and system hardening knowledge: RMF awareness, STIG application, secure baselining
• Linux and/or Windows server administration: installation, patching, log analysis, and performance management
• Strong communication skills for engaging with government, military, and technical teams

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA.

You will help design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable systems and infrastructure aligned to mission and business needs. Your role ensures performance, integrity, and protection across enterprise platforms while serving as a senior technical leader.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Designing and maintaining complex enterprise systems and infrastructure that support strategic business objectives.
• Developing comprehensive system architecture and design documentation while maintaining a robust library of network diagrams.
• Collaborating with engineering and cybersecurity teams to ensure solutions meet security, performance, and scalability standards.
• Managing and configuring network devices and appliances, including Juniper, Cisco, and F5 platforms.
• Administering and troubleshooting Windows, Linux, and vendor appliance-based systems to ensure high availability.
• Planning and executing OS upgrades, patches, migrations, and system lifecycle tasks.
• Developing and maintaining disaster recovery strategies and proactive system monitoring mechanisms.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of additional experience in lieu of a degree
• 5+ years of experience with systems and/or cybersecurity engineering.
• Current DoD 8570 certification meeting IAT Level II requirements.
• Knowledge of system architecture, infrastructure design, and/or advanced networking protocols.
• Experience with VMWare environments, including vCenter and/or ESXi deployment and administration.
• Experience in vulnerability management, including scanning, assessment, remediation, and reporting.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud.
• Experience with scripting and automation using Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell for Windows and Linux administration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced cloud certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Experience leading security architecture reviews and implementing zero-trust architectures.
• Exposure to SIEM platforms and enterprise monitoring solutions.
• Prior support to IC or DoD environments with ATO/accreditation processes and ICD 503 requirements.

• An active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
• Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Must haves: You have 5+ years of experience with AWS You have extensive experience, ideally 3 years or more, with observability and monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry, optimizing system performance and reliability. You have demonstrated ability in technical writing, with at least 3 years of experience creating detailed technical documentation, RFCs, and tech specs that clearly communicate complex ideas. The ideal candidate should: You bring at least 2 years of experience leading infrastructure projects in regulated environments such as HITRUST or SOC2, ensuring compliance and security. You have 3+ years of experience managing large-scale Terraform implementations, including the setup and maintenance of Terraform CI/CD pipelines. You have 2+ years of experience writing code.
