Leidos was awarded the U.S. Air Force Cloud One Architecture and Common Shared Services contract. Leidos is seeking a DevSecOps engineer across AWS, Azure, Google, and Oracle clouds. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to modernize a leading, global-scale multi-cloud environment in support of a critical mission, supporting USAF system resiliency, security, and cost effectiveness.

Location:

This position will be hybrid remote. Candidates will be required to work onsite as needed. Preferred candidates will be located near Hanscom AFB (Boston, MA) or work in Huntsville, AL.

Primary Responsibilities Could Include:

This individual will be responsible for developing in a scalable cloud-native solutions, and ensuring best practices across architecture, development, deployment, and security. This is a hands-on technical role that requires rolling up your sleeves to architect, code, debug, and mentor.

  • Design, implement, and support CI/CD pipelines for secure, automated software delivery.

  • Assist with the implementation of DevSecOps pipelines across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

  • Deploy, configure, and support applications in cloud environments.

  • Support availability, scalability, and performance of cloud-based systems.

  • Help maintain virtualized and hybrid cloud environments to meet performance and security requirements.

  • Implement and support automated security tools for vulnerability scanning, SAST/DAST, and container security.

  • In-depth experience with Java

  • In-depth experience integrating with and delivering within DevOps toolsets/practices

  • Direct experience utilizing software testing performance tools, such as Junit and scripting languages, such as Python, and Bash while working in an Agile development environment

  • Collaborate with developers, QA, security, and operations teams to support secure software delivery.

  • Follow established DevSecOps standards, processes, and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors and Two to Four years or more of experience; Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret or have Secret clearance required

  • US citizenship required

  • Certifications: CompTIA Security+ or equivalent (IAT-2)

  • ​​Working knowledge of DevSecOps principles and Agile methodologies (Scrum and/or Kanban).

  • Experience supporting or administering cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI).

  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.

  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).

  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Bash, Java, Go).

  • Understanding of Linux/Unix systems, networking fundamentals, and version control tools (Git).

  • Strong collaboration and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DoD or USAF cloud environments (e.g., Cloud One, Platform One).

  • Familiarity with Zero Trust concepts.

  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Google, or Oracle).

The Embedded Software Engineering Manager will lead and mentor a team of engineers in the development of next-generation WiFi Access Point solutions. This position requires a strong background in embedded systems, wireless and wired networking, and a proven track record of managing and delivering complex software projects. An experienced leader with a strong technical background in embedded systems, 802.11 wireless networking, and SoC platforms who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire software development lifecycle for WiFi Access Point products, from concept and architecture to testing and deployment.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced Agile environment.

  • Collaborate with different chip vendors and other cross-functional teams to drive project success.

  • Communicate complex technical concepts and project statuses to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Manage new SoC /SDK integrations, feature development, and platform enhancements.

  • Collaborate with chip vendors, cross-functional teams, and product stakeholders to drive project success.

  • Guide Code reviews, technical reviews, architecture decisions, and best practices adoption.

  • Focus on continuous improvement in product quality, team productivity, and customer satisfaction.

  • Hire and develop top engineering talent.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Networking, Wireless, or related fields
  • 10+ years in embedded software development and/or Firmware with a proven track record of 5+ years team management.
  • Expert level proficiency in embedded software Programming using C/C++/Shell programming.
  • Proven track record of successfully bringing wireless networking products from design to market.
  • Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving and Troubleshooting abilities, especially in complex, ambiguous situations.

Technical Expertise:

  • In-depth knowledge of embedded systems and integration of 3rd-party drivers with various hardware components.
  • Strong understanding of Uboot, Linux Kernel and user space programming, drivers, BSP, and IO interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, USB, MultiGig Ethernet, TPM, IoT,
  • Handson on tools like GIT, Jenkins CI/CD Pipelines, Jira, confluence, bitbucket
  • Expert ability to read, interpret, and apply information from technical documents, including datasheets, errata, and application notes from hardware and SoC vendors.
  • Strong understanding of wireless networking protocols, including 802.11 standards (Wi-Fi 6/7), wired products 802.3 MAC/PHY layers, and the TCP/IP stack.
  • · Familiarity with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers, wireshark, etc.

Leadership & People Management:

  • · Strong skills in team motivation, mentorship, and fostering a culture of innovation.
  • · Experience building and leading high-performing technical teams.

Collaboration & Interpersonal Skills:

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across different time zones.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to align with stakeholders and drive projects forward.

  • Experience with modern WiFi technologies, including Mesh, Cloud Management, and Network Security.

  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Python etc for automation and tooling.

  • Experience with applying AI/ML techniques to enhance connectivity and system performance.

  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.

  • Familiarity of End to End Debugging Enterprise networks with L2/L3/L7 protocols

Our salary ranges consider a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to benchmarking by independent third-party consultants, skill sets, years of experience, training, education, geography, and other business needs. Depending on experience, the range can be higher for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance. This position’s expected total compensation (base salary and commission range) is $118,000.00-$170,000.00

The candidate will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, life and accidental death insurance, a 401(k) plan, and participation in the Company’s Incentive Plan. Candidates starting with the Company will be eligible for eleven paid holidays in a full calendar year, two weeks of paid vacation (prorated based on start date), as well as other leave options.
