We are seeking Structural Engineers to join our Structural/Marine Group in our Baltimore, MD office.

Come join our collaborative team of engineers and architects on a variety of challenging projects, including waterfront facilities (piers, wharves, and bulkheads); dry docks and graving docks; and waterfront buildings. WRA has a strong mentoring culture and a focus on staff development.

Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of waterfront projects using various materials including concrete, steel, aluminum and FRP. Conduct field investigations, develop concept designs, and create construction documents for clients across a broad range of markets including Federal/Local Government and Industrial/Shipbuilding.

Responsibilities:

  • Structural analysis, design and detailing for a variety of waterfront facility types
  • Vessel berthing and mooring analysis
  • Field investigation, documentation, and report development
  • Development of plans, sections, and details in CADD and BIM platforms
  • Development of reports, cost estimates and specifications
  • Coordination with other disciplines and project stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Concentration or similar.
  • Experience with structural design and analysis software (RISA, STAAD, OPTIMOOR, etc.)
  • Experience with vessel berthing and mooring analyses
  • Experience with drafting and modeling software (Revit and AutoCAD).
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards (ASCE, ACI, etc.)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Qualifications

Come join our collaborative team of engineers and architects on a variety of challenging projects, including waterfront facilities (piers, wharves, and bulkheads); dry docks and graving docks; and waterfront buildings. WRA has a strong mentoring culture and a focus on staff development.

Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of waterfront projects using various materials including concrete, steel, aluminum and FRP. Conduct field investigations, develop concept designs, and create construction documents for clients across a broad range of markets including Federal/Local Government and Industrial/Shipbuilding.

Responsibilities:

  • Structural analysis, design and detailing for a variety of waterfront facility types
  • Vessel berthing and mooring analysis
  • Field investigation, documentation, and report development
  • Development of plans, sections, and details in CADD and BIM platforms
  • Development of reports, cost estimates and specifications
  • Coordination with other disciplines and project stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Concentration or similar.
  • Experience with structural design and analysis software (RISA, STAAD, OPTIMOOR, etc.)
  • Experience with vessel berthing and mooring analyses

  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster collaboration and communication between different IT teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors. This includes facilitating discussions, resolving conflicts, and promoting a shared understanding of architectural goals and decisions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters Degree in a Business or Information Technology field and 15+ years of related government contracting and commercial IT experience; additional years of professional work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience in a technical leadership role on large back office (e.g., ERP, HCM) enterprise application modernization and business transformational initiatives.
  • Experience evaluating an enterprise’s back office (e.g. ERP, HCM) application portfolio or business transformational proposal for technology risks and opportunities.

Job Description:
About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Food Scientist to join our R&D team at our Oak Brook, Illinois corporate office. This role is responsible for leading the development and commercialization of new products, product improvements, and cost optimization initiatives across powdered beverage and dry mix categories.

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Sales, Quality, Procurement, and Operations to deliver innovative, high-quality products that meet business and customer needs. This position offers the opportunity to lead product development from concept through commercialization while supporting innovation and continuous improvement across the organization.

You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:

  • Lead bench to plant development of new products, cost optimization initiatives, and quality improvement projects
  • Create prototypes, evaluate ingredient functionality, and assess new manufacturing and supplier options
  • Develop product specifications, process documentation, and technical playbooks to support scale up and production
  • Support technology transfer and provide onsite support during internal and external manufacturing startups
  • Apply scientific methods across experimental design, trial planning, data analysis, and interpretation
  • Provide technical guidance and influence cross functional decision making
  • Lead complex problem-solving efforts and support root cause analysis activities
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Quality, Procurement, Finance, Operations, and Engineering to deliver aligned solutions
  • Support customer facing technical activities including presentations and product discussions
  • Contribute to innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Mentor and support development of less experienced team members

Important Details:

  • The anticipated compensation for this position ranges from $82,600 to $123,800 annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics and business or organizational needs. For certain roles, the successful candidate may be eligible for annual discretionary merit compensation award, bonus and equity pay.
  • This is a full-time, hybrid role based in our Oak Brook, IL office. Travel up to thirty percent (30%) may be required to support plant trials, customer needs, and project work.

  • Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in food product development with increasing scope and responsibility
  • Experience in powdered beverage, dry mix, or similar product categories preferred
  • Strong understanding of ingredient functionality and interactions within dry systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead product development from concept through commercialization
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross functional teams and external partners
  • Experience presenting technical concepts to customers or stakeholders preferred

The successful candidate will bring engineering expertise in the design and deployment of satellite antennas and user terminals (UTs) for the Telesat Lightspeed Constellation network, supporting both fixed and mobile applications. This role involves complete analysis of terminal antenna options, modem integration, and UT architecture to provide technical inputs for deployment and portfolio development. The candidate will also lead technical relationships with antenna suppliers and participate in design reviews and validation tests.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop technical requirements for LEO Constellation UT antenna technology, including modem integration and antenna architecture
  • Support the definition of UT antenna and modem requirements, evaluate vendor developed technologies
  • Interface with and evaluate vendor-proposed terminal designs for performance, reliability, manufacturability, and review integration strategies between antennas and modems for future UT designs
  • Recommend modifications or new UT designs to achieve cost, performance, and reliability targets
  • Identify tests to validate system assumptions with antenna and UT prototypes
  • Help develop supporting documentation, test requirements and compliance matrix for UT Type Approval process
  • Lead evaluation of antenna technologies, including electronically steerable antennas (ESAs) and novel ESA technologies
  • Stay current with the latest satellite, 5G antenna design technologies, and open AMIP and open BMIP standards
  • Perform other duties as required

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar - required
  • Master’s in Engineering - required
  • PhD with research on electronically steerable antenna design - highly preferred
  • Minimum 10 years in satellite antenna, terminal, and/or satellite system design
  • Experience with ESA design and modem integration is a strong plus
  • Deployment of ESA designed antennas is a strong plus

Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Simulation, design, and testing of electronically steerable antennas for satellite communication
  • Knowledge of flat panel antenna integration approaches with variety of modem technologies
  • Familiarity with standardized protocols for antenna control and modem interoperability and communication
  • Expertise in Ka-band antenna technologies for mobile land, aeronautical, maritime, and fixed applications
  • Understanding of satellite modems, hub technology, and RF equipment
  • Strong foundation in electromagnetism and array antenna architecture
  • Experience with RFIC selection, beamforming, and manufacturing processes for array antennas
  • Knowledge of antenna control techniques for beam steering and beam shape control
  • Ability to make design trade-offs between performance, cost, and power consumption
