Job Details

What You’ll Do
This is a “department of one” role (with one direct report), combining leadership, ownership, and hands on impact.
People Operations & Employee Experience

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions, issues, and day to day HR needs
  • Manage benefits administration, including health insurance and employee programs
  • Oversee leave of absence processes and ensure smooth employee experiences
  • Support employee engagement and social initiatives across the organization

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Provide sound guidance on employee relations matters (volume is currently low, but judgment matters)
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws across a multi state workforce
  • Partner closely with payroll and support payroll/compliance activities across multiple states
  • Support immigration processes, including green card sponsorships

Compensation & Programs

  • Partner with executive leadership on compensation strategy, including bonuses and equity programs
  • Help evolve pay structures to support retention, fairness, and growth
  • Apply strong compensation fundamentals to inform decisions and recommendations

Recruiting & Talent

  • Lead recruiting efforts across the organization, partnering directly with leaders
  • Run efficient, pragmatic hiring processes with a focus on quality and speed
  • Act as a thought partner to leadership on talent planning and future needs

Culture, Leadership & Initiatives

  • Run and support regular leadership touchpoints, including weekly department head meetings
  • Actively shape culture through engagement, communication, and consistency
  • Participate in and support philanthropic and community initiatives through the company’s foundation, including nonprofit partnerships and employee volunteer programs

Systems & Infrastructure

  • Own HR systems and data; identify and resolve system related issues
  • Play a key role in HRIS evolution and/or implementation (experience with system transitions is a plus)

Who You Are
You’re a confident, capable HR leader who is comfortable operating independently and working directly with senior executives.
Must Haves

  • Deep experience across compensation, employee relations, and HR systems
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll and compliance (multi state experience preferred)
  • Proven ability to roll up your sleeves and do the work-not just design it
  • Sound judgment, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to navigate different personalities
  • A self starter who thrives with autonomy and minimal hand holding

Nice to Haves

  • Experience leading or supporting HRIS implementations or system transitions
  • Exposure to publicly traded environments (helpful, not required)
  • Background supporting executive leadership teams

Industry experience is not required.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid schedule with four days in the office (Monday-Thursday)
  • Fridays are flexible based on business needs
  • Additional in office time is welcomed but not mandatory

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Controller for our manufacturing operations. This is a pivotal role in our organization, responsible for all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic planning, financial analysis, and leadership within the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Controller, you will:

  1. Oversee all financial operations and direct corporate financial planning and structure.
  2. Coordinate, analyze and report the financial performance to Management and Board of Directors (financial performance, projections and other special projects as required).
  3. Prepare short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management and external parties.
  4. Oversee audit and tax functions, coordinate activities with outside audit firms and review firms performance.
  5. Develop, implement and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures for a wide-ranging set of activities including financial accounting and reporting, employee relations (hiring/terminating policies) and other corporate policies.
  6. Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  7. Responsible for all corporate and human resource activities including employee benefits, retirement plans, corporate insurance and related activities. This includes the coordination of these activities with all satellite offices as well.
  8. You must have proven proficiency in accounting, taxation, financial management and cost accounting with a keen focus on maximizing a company’s financial performance and profitability with a clear understanding of opportunities for cost control and efficiency.
  9. Assess and evaluate financial performance of organization with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts. Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plan of organization.
  10. Identify, acquire and implement systems and software to automate processes and make efficiencies.
  11. Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance and non-organizational accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. CPA, CMA or other financial certifications are highly desirable.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position with a proven record of success.
  3. Solid experience in cost accounting and financial management within the manufacturing industry.
  4. Proven expertise in strategic planning, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  5. Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence - ability to motivate staff.
  6. Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  7. Significant experience in or knowledge of nonprofit accounting, including sophisticated fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting.
  8. Deep knowledge and understanding of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) rules and standards.
  9. Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting.
  10. Strong ability to adapt and utilize new accounting technology and software.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial statement audits, reviews and compilations in a variety of client industries
  • Perform and document audit procedures over complex areas of accounting
  • Supervise, train and mentor staff and interns on audit process
  • Proactively interact with client’s key management to gather information, resolve problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvements
  • Research and analyze accounting and audit-related issues
  • Utilize data extraction, data analytics and data visualization tools to bring insight to clients

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of public accounting or equivalent experience
  • Must meet CPA license eligibility requirements
  • Data extraction, data analytics and data visualization presentation experience highly preferred.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Permanent Tax Manager to join our fast-paced finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and strategy for our clients in the finance industry. The Tax Manager will have extensive knowledge of Oregon State Tax laws, trust taxation theory, and trust/fiduciary accounting income. This role also involves working with a variety of trusts including revocable living trusts, marital trusts, bypass trusts, and charitable split-interest trusts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of tax compliance, including Trusts and Estates, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies for clients, taking into account Oregon State Tax laws and the specific requirements of different types of trusts.
  • Conduct detailed research on tax legislation, case law, and industry developments to provide accurate and up-to-date advice to clients.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored tax solutions.
  • Manage and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Liaise with the IRS and other regulatory bodies as necessary.
  • Prepare and review complex tax returns, including those for revocable living trusts, marital trusts, bypass trusts, and charitable split-interest trusts.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise clients accordingly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax management role, preferably within the finance industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of Oregon State Tax laws, trust taxation theory, trust/fiduciary accounting income, and distributable net income rules.
  • Experience with a variety of trusts including revocable living trusts, marital trusts, bypass trusts, and charitable split-interest trusts.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing and mentoring junior staff.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax legislation.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly explain complex tax issues to clients.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office applications.
