MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Systems Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC! This is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Advising program managers in planning and executing systems engineering/technical activities such as: conducting assessments of technology maturity, conducting technical reviews, assessing and managing technical risks, analyzing technical artifacts, developing requirements, developing technology roadmaps, developing conceptual architectures, developing transition strategies, analyzing business processes, assessing program solutions, conducting trade studies, conducting cost/performance trade analyses, and conducting feasibility analyses
  • Participating as a team member in conducting independent Technical Assessments of Acquisition Programs by analyzing technical artifacts, identifying sources of technical risk, and assisting the program to develop and implement risk mitigation plans
  • Identifying technical risks and issues and working with program managers to address technical risks and issues
  • Interfacing with Headquarters offices to communicate program status, risks, and issues

Minimum qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years’ experience is required.
  • Technical and/or Systems Engineering experience (such as conducting technological maturity assessments, conducting technical reviews, managing technical risk, and developing requirements)
  • Strong ability and interest in challenging the status quo with better options
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Comfortable paving new paths, managing resistance, and building consensus

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Department of Homeland Security Acquisition and Systems Engineering policies
  • Experience and knowledge working with Maritime/United States Coast Guard acquisition programs.

Clearance requirements:

  • A current DHS Background Investigation is required prior to starting this position.
  • Must have a current/active secret clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

The projected compensation range for this position is $116,400.00-$194,900.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. You’ll be responsible for utilizing accepted practices and standards to ensure that all designs meet the highest level of quality and safety. As a 3D Substation Designer, you will be part of an established team that provides consulting services to both public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities. These consulting services provide clients solutions in the areas of comprehensive engineering design of electrical transmission and distribution, substation and transmission line projects nationwide.

Your Main Objective:

  • Develop new, or modify existing: 3D Electrical layout/plan of substation equipment and structures, 3D Substation foundation layout/plan drawings, Section/elevation views from layout/plan drawings, Conduit layout/plan drawings, Substation grounding layout/plan drawings and 3D Control building layout/plan and section/elevation drawings
  • Prepare electrical schematics
  • Complete electrical wiring design drawings
  • Develop a complete bill of materials for all required electrical equipment and materials.
  • Review and comment on equipment drawings received from vendors and manufacturers.
  • Work with other disciplines (e.g., Civil Engineers) as necessary to complete assigned work.
  • Assist the team with developing processes and procedures to increase team efficiency.
  • Perform basic engineering calculations to support engineering design
  • Apply relevant client, national, and state standards to each assignment as needed.

What Sets You Apart (Background Requirements):

  • Ability to develop protection and control drawings including schematics and wiring deliverables
  • Associate’s degree in a technical or design field, drafting, or related
  • 2+ years of direct substation physical and electrical design experience using CAD software on electric utility industry projects; Additional, demonstrated directly relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement
  • Solid comprehension and application of design software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Vault and Inventor
  • Proficient with Windows-based software such as Word and Excel, which are frequently used to develop project deliverables.
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs.
  • Advanced ability to utilize 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with others including, but not limited to, Engineers, Designers, and drafters in multi-discipline groups.

Leidos is looking to hire a Virtual Server Administrator Mid to join our team in Quantico, Virginia. The qualified candidate will manage and operate a virtualized Microsoft (MS) environment.

SMIT is the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport portion of NGEN-R, the Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, Leidos will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform Daily Status checks of 6 Nutanix Clusters (Virtual Environments) and complete reports with any alerts or errors.
  • Develop and manage effective working relationships with both internal and external customers who use MITSC-E Virtual Machines and Remedy Ticketing systems.
  • Develop the physical Virtual Infrastructure design, addressing performance criteria and standards for transition from VMWare to Nutanix Virtual Environment.
  • Develop and implement programs to ensure that systems, network, and data users are aware, understand, and follow network IA policies and procedures.
  • Install software for Nutanix configuration for Virtual Machines running Microsoft Server 2012, 2016, Windows 10, RHEL 6/7, and integrated with Active Directory to configure end-user permissions.
  • Ensure Recovery checkpoints are completed on an hourly, daily, and weekly basis.
  • Report On-Site to local Data Center and remote Disaster Recovery locations for hardware component replacement.
  • Submit Support requests with vendors for issues that cannot be resolved through Knowledge Base information.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve systems failures and application issues with information system developers, customers and independently.
  • Install, configure and administer a wide variety of windows and linux/unix operating systems, servers, workstations, desktops, storage, network components for Local Area Networks (LANs), Storage Attached Network (SAN) switches.
  • Built, monitored, maintained, upgraded and secured server and storage hardware systems on NIPRNET and SIPRNET networks
  • Routinely provide after-hours and weekend support for customers with Maintenance windows outside of regular working hours.
  • Recommend and implement changes to information systems via approval from management and Change Advisory Board (CAB).
  • Utilize VMware vSphere vCenter and Nutanix Acropolis to manage multiple ESXi and AHV hosts; datastore clusters, and virtual machines (VM)
  • Create baselines to apply patches and updates using VMware Update Manager.
  • Utilize vSphere Data Protection (vDP) to provide VM and Volume level backups to ensure systems are recoverable in the event of failures.
  • Conduct system diagnostics, repaired and or replaced electronic equipment hardware such as storage, switches, CPUs, system boards, Network Interface Cards (NICs), storage arrays and other hardware components.
  • Manage Nutanix Acropolis, Nutanix AHV, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2008 R2, VMware vSphere vCenter 5.x and 6.x, ESXi 5.x and 6.x, Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows 7 and Windows 10.
  • Perform system security checks, apply security measures as appropriate, patch systems using Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA) according to Operational Directives (OpDirs) to ensure compliance with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) security standards
  • Apply DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) on information systems/software to meet stringent security compliance requirements.  Remediate vulnerabilities discovered from Retina security scans.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and 5 Years of Experience
  • Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II
  • US Citizen with an active DOD Secret Clearance

Summary of Position

The Facilities Reliability Engineer is responsible for proactive identification, management, and improvement of facilities-related equipment/asset lifecycles through the use of data-driven analysis of machine operation and associated failure modes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide support in the manufacturing of optical fiber with a focus on Facilities Equipment Reliability: HVAC/Chillers/Air Compressors/Process Water systems/Boilers/High Purity Gas Delivery systems, etc.
  • Lead equipment reliability excellence initiatives.
  • Generate and deploy facilities equipment reliability projects to improve overall equipment uptime and effectiveness.
  • Track downtime and abnormally high maintenance costs to prioritize and eliminate frequently failing assets.
  • Participate in the Management of Change process as it relates to design, specification, and commissioning of new and/or modified facilities equipment to ensure it is maintainable and reliable from day one.

  • Work closely with Maintenance teams to develop and refine Preventive (PM) and Predictive (PdM) maintenance strategies using predictive tools like vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasonic, and oil analysis.

  • Maximize production equipment effectiveness, including:

Summary of Position

The Equipment Reliability Engineer is responsible for proactive identification, management, and improvement of equipment/asset lifecycles through the use of data-driven analysis of machine operation and associated failure modes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and leadership in the area of equipment reliability improvement.
  • Lead equipment reliability excellence initiatives.
  • Generate and deploy equipment reliability projects to improve overall equipment uptime and effectiveness.
  • Track production losses and abnormally high maintenance costs to prioritize and eliminate frequently failing assets.
  • Participate in the Management of Change process as it relates to design, specification, and commissioning of new and/or modified equipment to ensure it is maintainable and reliable from day one.
  • Lead investigations into equipment failures to identify underlying causes and implement permanent solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Work closely with Maintenance teams to develop and refine Preventive (PM) and Predictive (PdM) maintenance strategies using predictive tools like vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasonic, and oil analysis.
  • Work will technical and operations staff to identify and mitigate recurring equipment breakdown issues through analysis and development of strategies to prevent failure.
  • Maximize production equipment effectiveness, including:
    • Safety for employees operating equipment.
    • Maximizing equipment availability and uptime.
    • Readiness to support strategic business growth.
  • Collaborate regularly with Automation, Engineering, Operations and Maintenance personnel to resolve both short and long term issues.
  • Identify, implement, and/or support continuous improvement (CI) projects/efforts throughout the facility.

Qualifications

This is a fast-paced work environment with consistent pressure to complete duties as outlined above which requires ability to manage multiple projects at a detailed level and provide support to many internal departments in a fast-changing environment. Many duties listed above are time-sensitive and have strict deadlines for completion.

Job Description

Ultra Maritime is searching for a highly motivated and detail oriented Systems Engineer to support the development of Radar systems. Working closely with RF, Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineers, the Systems Engineer will guide the development of the Radar System from initial design, through finalization of the design, and finally through the integration and test events. The Systems Engineer is expected to provide system level trade-space assessments of approaches working with the Project Engineer to determine the benefit trade-offs. At Ultra Maritime, the Systems Engineer will have the opportunity to guide the development and selection of key technologies for the Navy and will have the opportunity to work with complex software algorithms and cutting-edge digital signal processing hardware. The Systems Engineer will have the opportunity to contribute to key strategic approaches for future proposals, IR&D, and additional development activities.

Primary Experience:

  • Strong attention to detail and work ethic.
  • Knowledge of proper systems engineering discipline and rigor required for disciplined systems development.
  • Significant experience with Radar systems or similar signal processing systems.
  • Experience and knowledge of algorithms used for navigation, periscope detection, discrimination or other parts of traditional Radar signal processing.
  • Laboratory knowledge including setup and use of Linux-based system integration, test, and execution.
  • Experience planning, reviewing, and executing integration and test events for combined hardware and software systems
  • Ability to document and specify system and subsystem level requirements.
  • Experience working with a team to jointly develop a system during all phases of the development lifecycle.

Position Summary

The CAD Designer II will report to the Engineering Technical Services Manager and is responsible for completing modeling and drawing tasks for creating engineering documentation in support of design, manufacturing and testing of mechanical and fluid power products within the Engineering Department. Responsibilities

  • Ensure Safety is the foundation of daily work through vigilance and accountability
  • Generate and change models and drawings using CAD software and following Sargent CAD Directives
  • Check models and drawings to verify adherence to Sargent CAD Directives and release requirements
  • Complete all required Windchill tasks associated with creating, changing, and/or releasing documents
  • Using input provided by the Engineer in the form of marked drawings, prepare engineering layouts showing the relationship and arrangement of components for development of new products
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to define design requirements for manufacturing and inspection
  • Prepare complex sectional and/or external layouts to resolve envelope concerns, functional or interference problems with direction from the Project Engineer
  • Determine and implement dimensioning schemes and GD&T for engineering drawings with Engineer’s direction
  • Create assembly layouts to verify local clearances between mating and adjacent parts
  • Generate Manufacturing and Tooling designs with direction from Engineer
  • Perform tolerance and dimensional stackups of parts and assemblies
  • Create, update, and review Desktop Procedures for tasks completed within the CAD department
  • Must be able to work as part of a team to complete assigned tasks

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: 3 years of experience in CAD related position
  • Education: Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in CAD OR
  • Associate degree in related field plus 5 years of related experience OR
  • High School diploma or GED plus 7 years of related experience
  • Demonstrated CAD modeling ability

  • Proficient in applying ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)

Join us in our fast-paced support to the Space Development Agency (SDA ). Responsible for the development, qualification and implementation of new/improved products and cost reduction projects as defined in the Telecom Product Roadmap and DTC Programs

  • Perform Design and Process Engineering tasks and manage New Product Development (OSP and FR) and DTC Cost Reduction projects to completion. Compliance & Governance (about 30%)

  • Lead implementation and sustainment of NIST SP 800-171 controls and CMMC Level 2 practices.
  • Develop and maintain compliance artifacts:
    • SSPs
    • POA&Ms
    • Asset inventories, boundary definitions
    • Network and data flow diagrams
  • Conduct internal gap assessments and readiness reviews for CMMC.
