Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you…

Have a B.S. degree in Operations Research/Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Physical Science or related field
Have 1+ years of professional experience related to weapon system development
Have experience in early concept development, performance analysis, systems integration, or requirements engineering activities for complex systems
Have experience developing and customizing system modeling using UML/SysML and associated software
Have strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills and ability to interact with sponsor representatives
Have experience in system engineering principles and practices
Are willing and able to travel periodically to Government and contractor sites within the continental U.S.
Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Information System Security Engineer (ISSE)

Overview:

GovCIO is currently hiring for an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to support the 2ROPS accreditation process for small classified mobile systems to renew the current Authority to Operate (ATO) and provide ongoing cybersecurity sustainment support. This position will be located at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California and will be an onsite position with some flexibility for remote work with 2ROPS leadership approval.

Responsibilities:

Designs and implements information assurance and security engineering systems with requirements of business continuity, operations security, cryptography, forensics, regulatory compliance, internal counterespionage (insider threat detection and mitigation), physical security analysis (including facilities analysis, and security management). Assesses and mitigates system security threats and risks throughout the program life cycle. Validates system security requirements definition and analysis. Establishes system security designs. Implements security designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures. Verifies security requirements; performs system certification and accreditation planning and testing and liaison activities. Supports secure systems operations and maintenance.

Participates with the client in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into technical designs.
Configures and validates secure systems and tests security products and systems to detect security weakness; performs network scanning and vulnerability analysis.
Ensures that the appropriate security features and safeguards have been implemented on all information systems as required by DoD/IC policy and directives, and industry best practices.
Performs defense device system installation, configuration maintenance, account maintenance, signature maintenance, patch management, and troubleshooting of all implemented, maintained, and deployed systems.
Provides security certification test and evaluation of assets, vulnerability management and response, security assessments, customer support and provides guidance on security issues.

Generate and change models and drawings using CAD software and following Sargent CAD Directives
Check models and drawings to verify adherence to Sargent CAD Directives and release requirements
Complete all required Windchill tasks associated with creating, changing, and/or releasing documents
Using input provided by the Engineer in the form of marked drawings, prepare engineering layouts showing the relationship and arrangement of components for development of new products
Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to define design requirements for manufacturing and inspection
Prepare complex sectional and/or external layouts to resolve envelope concerns, functional or interference problems with direction from the Project Engineer
Determine and implement dimensioning schemes and GD&T for engineering drawings with Engineer’s direction
Create assembly layouts to verify local clearances between mating and adjacent parts
Generate Manufacturing and Tooling designs with direction from Engineer
Perform tolerance and dimensional stackups of parts and assemblies
Create, update, and review Desktop Procedures for tasks completed within the CAD department

Join us in our fast-paced support to the Space Development Agency (SDA ). Recognized as the Department of Defense’s constructive disruptor for space acquisition, SDA delivers space-based capabilities to the joint warfighter to support terrestrial missions through development, fielding, and operation of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. • Experience with Joint Training and Simulation systems such as JTSE, JLVC, LVC, or similar DoD environments.
• Experience with real time data integration or streaming architectures.
• Knowledge of DoD architecture frameworks and model based systems engineering (MBSE) tools.
• Experience supporting joint, multi domain, coalition, or large scale training exercises.
• Understanding of data governance, data standards, and enterprise data strategy.
• Experience with constructive or synthetic training environments.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and secure deployments in classified environments.
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, CISSP, AWS Cloud, or Kubernetes.
