Primary Responsibilities

  • Change Management and Configuration Control Development: Advise and assist the Government in developing the Change Management (CM) and Configuration Control (CC) NEC Directive, including authoritative criteria and standards for NC3 Configuration Items (CIs).

  • Analysis and Reporting for Configuration Control Boards: Produce analysis reports for the NC3 Enterprise Change Advisory Panel by attending Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and configuration management groups. Review NC3 Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Operational Certification Packages (OCPs), and associated artifacts to provide actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Digital Engineering Strategy Execution: Develop and execute the digital engineering strategy for the NC3 Enterprise Configuration Management in coordination with NEC divisions. Ensure the strategy includes automated workflows, federated data frameworks, and tools to support digital transformation.

  • Continuous Improvement Recommendations: Advise the Government on continuous improvement recommendations to the Systems Engineering Rubric for evaluating the merits of new or enhanced NC3 capabilities. Provide insights to refine processes and improve the evaluation framework for system upgrades and enhancements.

  • Development of Acceptance Criteria: Advise and assist the Government in developing acceptance criteria constructs, including detailed checklists, for the review of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and OCPs.

  • Configuration Management Plan and Baseline Maintenance: Maintain the NC3 Configuration Management Plan and the NC3 Configuration Management Baseline to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and operational requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Security Clearance: Top Secret/SCI clearance (mandatory).
  • Education: BA or BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or educational equivalent
  • Experience: 5+ years in establishing system information requirements, designing architecture – including software, hardware and communications – to support total requirements and provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces, evaluating problems of workflows and organization, and developing appropriate corrective actions.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools (MS Teams, SharePoint).
  • Communication: Strong written/verbal skills for technical documentation and presentations.
  • Work Style: Ability to manage multiple tasks in an agile, dynamic environment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with systems engineering and enterprise architecture for high assurance communications systems.
  • Background in NC3 architecture/performance analysis and engineering design.

Leidos is seeking a Systems Engineer who will be a member of a dynamic team working on the development of an air traffic control and management system that improves aircraft runway and terminal congestion. Nationwide congestion is increasing, and the need for efficient aircraft traffic planning is critical. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) is the surface management solution that will provide NextGen Air Traffic Control capabilities to improve air traffic operations in the National Airspace System (NAS).

The Terminal Flight Data Management (TFDM) program is a Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) NextGen program based on airport surface management provides that efficiencies for both the airport surface and terminal airspace by providing a new and comprehensive integrated surface traffic control and management system.

TFDM functions include:

  • Surface Collaborative Decision making (SCDM), departure scheduler and other airport decision tools
  • Electronic Flight Data (EFD);
  • Enhanced Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) Traffic Flow Management System (TFMS)
  • Replacement or integration of multiple systems in the National Airspace System (NAS).
  • TFDM will share data among: controllers, aircraft operators, and airports so they can better stage arrivals and departures and manage traffic flow within terminal airspace for greater efficiency.
  • Stakeholders will have a shared awareness of flights on the ground and in the air, the ability to exchange data electronically, with the goal of a continuous real-time picture of traffic volume and airport resources, making flights more efficient from gate to gate.

Responsibilities:
Working both as a member of a team and independently the successful candidate will be:

  • Modernizing the air traffic control tower equipment by improving the exchange of electronic flight data and implementing electronic flight strips.
  • Streamlining the schedule sequence of departures to improve efficiency on the surface.
  • Optimizing the experience for the flying public, Air Traffic Control, and the airline industry by improving the collaboration and decision-making capabilities between the gate and the tower.
  • Developing A-Level System/Subsystem Specification (SSS) requirements, B-Level Software Requirements Specification (SRS), Systems Engineering Modeling and Design, and Computer Human Interface design and mock-up development for the TFDM system
  • Interfacing with the FAA customer to address/answer questions relating to the developed requirements, use cases describing human interactions and design decisions
  • Performing Systems Engineering as needed for the TFDM system
  • Providing support needed for software development, integration and test, and other functional areas
  • Articulating user needs and requirements from high level user stories
  • Developing the design for the user interface framework including client and server side components; analyzing and designing databases within an application
  • Working in an Agile Scrum environment

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires BS degree and 8-12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain.
  • Systems Engineering experience, including proven experience working in complex projects gathering user requirements and converting them into system requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience:
    • working directly with customers to discuss their requirements and objectives
    • interfacing with other functional areas (e.g. Software, Hardware)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in a team environment

Leidos is seeking a Lead System Architect to serve as the top technical authority for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) program. The position serves as the technical conscience of the program and is accountable for defining, safeguarding, and evolving the system architecture so the solution functions as an integrated, cost-effective whole that satisfies all contract and mission requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

Candidate will support advanced technology radar programs by maintaining a current RedHat Enterprise SE Linux distribution built every quarter with STIGs applied. This will involve working with the Cybersecurity team to ensure that STIGS are up to date.

This position will also be responsible for building drives for products using this distribution with classified software loaded. Initial testing of distributions will be performed, a report generated, and inventory will be tracked by the person in this role. This role will also assist with script maintenance for loading software onto drives and upgrading drives in the field. The creation of patches for existing systems will also be the responsibility of the person in this position.

This position will require the building of Linux distributions and patches. This position will also require the creation, inventory management, and distribution of physical drives.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, or similar degree from an ABET-accredited school with a strong demonstration of the skills listed below plus 4-8 years of experience in IT support of Linux systems or Linux distribution support or Masters with 6 – 10 years of experience in IT support of Linux systems or Linux distribution support.

We are seeking an early career Electrical Designer to be an integral part of the engineering team that keeps NSI on the forefront of NDT technology. This position sustains existing products and supports technical innovations to industrial x-ray, automation, and CT products from prototype to commercialization.

What You’ll Do:

Primary Responsibilities -

  • Reviews the design and helps resolve the details not completely defined.
  • Develop specifications, designs or drawings using engineering principles, established NSI standards, procedures, and instructions. Follows NSI best practices, policies and procedures in the design, layout, and documentation of NSI custom and standard products.
  • Provides the required level of documentation for custom or standard projects. Specific tasks may include making drawings and assemblies and Bill of Materials using the CAD system and other computer tools, as required. Follows all NSI CAD Best Practices for schematic creation, drawing creation, file management, and revision control.
  • Verifies completed work; Checks cross references, Bills of Materials, materials to be used, quantities, and adherence to Best Practices.
  • Resolves electrical documentation and system problems with designed or purchased parts used in a design. Assures that any changes are documented and prepared in accordance with engineering change procedures and in a timely manner.
  • Prepare floor layouts and facilities requirements for customer installations.
  • Interface with manufacturing to support product assembly, wiring, troubleshooting, and installation.
  • Interface with project management and team members to ensure projects meet schedule and delivery requirements.
  • Work on multiple concurrent projects and prioritize to meet internal and external deadlines.
  • Provide electrical design support throughout product lifecycle.

Secondary Responsibilities -

  • Develop working knowledge of X-ray and NDT techniques through NSI technical experts.
  • Prepare and participate in internal design reviews with cross functional team.
  • Collaborate with a cross functional team of software, controls, and NDT engineers to develop innovative solutions.
  • Experience with industrial robots is desired.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking qualified candidates who bring:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent & minimum associate’s degree or Vo-tech certificate in drafting, design, industrial design, industrial engineering, electronics, and 4 years drafting/design experience.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical software package
  • Broad knowledge of documentation and quality systems, including engineering change and ISO 9001.
  • Knowledge of automation components including servo motors, PLC hardware, and cabling design and layout
  • Experience with SolidWorks EPDM is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Compensation Information:

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $33-40/hr. based on education and experience.
