Minimum Qualifications:

15+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or Cloud Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope and complexity
Bachelor’s degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management or related professional engineering discipline. An additional 5 years of System Administrator experience might be substituted for a degree.
Must hold an IAT II certification (e.g., Security+ or equivalent); In absence of having a certification, candidate will have 60 days from program start to obtain it
Proficiency in administering Linux operating systems.
Experience with Windows Server 2022 administration, including Active Directory and networking
Proven experience as a System Administrator or Cloud Engineer with practical knowledge of cloud environments

Provide Tier 1(Help Desk) and Tier 2/3 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Systems Administrator to join our team in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Serves as a Customer Advocate supporting VIP level customer; must present professional image and communicate well. Provides in-person, “white glove” support to key stakeholders.
Responsible for providing support to end-user community on difficult hardware, software and network related problems, questions, and use.
Provides resolutions to out of the ordinary issues for users. If unable to diagnose problem, will work with service desk management or Tier 3 to diagnose and resolve problem.
Responds to trouble tickets, customer calls for support as well as in-person support assistance. Responsible for providing in-depth and high level, support to end-user community on hardware, software and network related problems, questions, and use.

Outstanding customer service skills and practices.

The Marine Readiness Division on behalf of The Leidos Regan Test Site is seeking a Virtualization Enterprise Systems Engineer to support the deployment and sustainment of a virtualized system running VMware on a VxRail cluster. This role is part of the SMDC RTS Modernization contract for the Space and Missile Defense Command in Huntsville, AL, supporting a world-wide mission focused on Space and Missile Overwatch.

Position Overview

As a Level 3 Virtualization Enterprise Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing, supporting, and maintaining VMware ESX infrastructure in a data center environment. This position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, mission-critical setting. You will be involved in infrastructure integration, security compliance, and operations management to ensure high availability and performance of the virtual environment.

Security Clearance Requirement: U.S. Citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance required.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting VMware on a Dell VxRail cluster involves several key responsibilities, focusing on deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and security. Here are the primary responsibilities:

Deployment & Configuration

Install and configure VMware vSphere and vSAN on VxRail.
Perform initial VxRail cluster setup, including network, storage, and compute resource configuration.
Configure vCenter Server Appliance (vCSA) to manage the VxRail cluster.
Deploy and manage VM templates, cloning, and snapshots for streamlined provisioning.

System Administration & Maintenance

Monitor cluster health using VxRail Manager, vCenter, and vSAN Health Check.
Apply firmware, BIOS, and driver updates using VxRail Lifecycle Manager (VxRail LCM).
Manage ESXi hosts, vMotion, High Availability (HA), and Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) settings.
Perform datastore and storage capacity planning, including vSAN and external storage integration.

Troubleshooting & Performance Optimization

Diagnose hardware and software failures using Dell Secure Remote Services (SRS), iDRAC, and vRealize Operations (vROps).
Resolve VM performance issues, including CPU, memory, and storage bottlenecks.
Investigate vSAN-related errors (e.g., disk group failures, object unavailability, or congestion).
Analyze and resolve networking issues in vSphere Standard Switch (vSS) or Distributed Switch (vDS) configurations.

Security & Compliance

Apply DISA STIGs and DoD SRGs for security hardening.
Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and secure authentication methods (e.g., Active Directory integration, MFA).
Conduct vulnerability scans and remediation using tools like Tenable Nessus, ACAS, or SCAP Compliance Checker.
Ensure compliance with RMF/ATO documentation and security requirements.

Automation & Scripting

Use PowerCLI, PowerShell, or Ansible for automation of administrative tasks.
Implement orchestration workflows for efficient VM provisioning and cluster management.
Develop scripts for log analysis, performance tuning, and patch management.

Support & Documentation

Provide Level 3/4 support for operational issues related to the VxRail cluster.
Maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, architecture diagrams, and system inventories.
Train junior engineers and operational staff on VMware best practices and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with Dell Support (ProSupport or ProDeploy) for complex issue resolution.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, MIS, or a related field (or equivalent experience in IT).
8+ years of experience in virtualization and storage infrastructure.
Expertise in VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, vSphere Update Manager, vSphere Lifecycle manager, High Availability and Distributed Resource Scheduler.
Strong knowledge of SANs, Fibre Channel fabric, vSphere Standard/Distributed Switches.

Description

Our customer, the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), provides, operates, and assures command and control of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to its customers, the department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations. This position directly supports the DISA-provided capabilities and services.

The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector/Global Solutions Management-Operations II (GSMO-II) contract has an opening for an Implementations Network Engineer at Scott AFB, IL. TheImplementations Network Engineer will perform installation oversight, configuration, testing, monitoring, servicing of network equipment and activation of networks for projects supporting the Department of Defense networks.

This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance to start.

Primary Responsbilities: Responsible for performing and training team on the following duties:

Perform customer coordination, Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A), execution of all reporting functions, and complete data input associated with new service activations to ensure they are implemented in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) standards.
Work directly with customers, solution architects and vendor SMEs to implement changes and also identify, analyze, and resolve issue.
Manage Service Orders, in accordance with Change Management procedures.
Ensure Telecommunication Service Orders (TSOs) are in place and accurate for scheduled network additions and changes.
Initiate network device configurations using configlets.
Analyze DISN and databases to validate and implement customer requirements.
Design and implementation of solutions to highly technical problems through testing, documentation and modification of configurations on network devices.
Coordinate and program customer circuit activation with commercial vendors to establish the engineered solution for end-to-end connectivity.
Perform network monitoring to assess if deployed changes have caused impacts to customer traffic using provided expectations of traffic behavior, lessons learned, and customer reporting.
Utilize systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional requirements in support of customer resources.
Engage with the DISA project managers and/or customers to resolve issues with incomplete or unclear requirements.
Reach out to stakeholders and facilitate approvals as necessary to ensure continual forward progress of the service request.

Basic Qualifications:

Proficient knowledge of various network hardware equipment specifications, configuration and testing processes, and industry specifications.
Knowledge of configuring, activating, testing, and analyzing network systems.
Network engineering, problem management, and performance management experience.
Understanding of basic telecommunications and information technology terms and technology.
Knowledge of data and voice network design carried over various transmissions systems, router to router connections using military and commercial protocols such as BGP and ISIS, switch-to-switch trunking to include VLANS, and circuit configurations through multiplexers.
Experience with network services (BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, WAN, VPN, VLAN, VRF, etc.) and network appliances (e.g., routers, load balancers, domain name servers, firewalls).
Ability to work in a team environment, but self-driven to complete assignments while continually developing proficiencies in processes.
Strong written and verbal communications, team building and collaboration skills.
An active Secret security clearance is required.
DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience at DISA, or knowledge of DISA systems and processes.
Prior experience with SharePoint data entry.
Experience performing customer outreach.
Experience with DISA Request Fulfillment process and associate documents (TSRs, TSOs, completion reports) and circulars experience.
Basic understanding of Department of Defense, its policies, and hierarchy.
Basic understanding of DISA organizational structure and how different elements (DITCO, etc.) contribute to fulfilling mission partner TSR requirements.
Network certifications: Cisco Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, etc.), Microsoft certifications (MCSE, etc.), security certifications (Security + CE, CISSP, etc.)- ITIL certification.

Required Education and Experience:

Requires BS and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience. (Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.)

Review and analyze Authorization Services processes, procedures, practices and technical solutions.
