Overview
We are seeking a seasoned and technically proficient Chief Engineer to lead engineering efforts on the AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat Control System, a critical open-architecture system supporting U.S. Navy undersea warfare missions. Position Summary
The Waterfront Engineer III provides advanced technical expertise and analytical support in the resolution to Condition Reports (CR) that are generated as a result of modifications to the Statement of Work (SOW), Technical Work Documents (TWD) or as found conditions in the performance of work. Prepares technical reports/instructions to support contracts; resolves conflicts and/or determine testing requirements for certification of production work performed for contracts. The Waterfront Engineer III assists the Waterfront Engineering Manager and Project Manager in defining and managing resource requirements, schedule, and cost for projects under his/her cognizance. This role supports Oceaneering’s Marine Services Division (MSD) located in Chesapeake, VA, but is based in Bremerton, WA. Successful candidates must be willing to travel up to 30% of the year.
This individual will interact with MSD personnel including those in QA, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Shipping and Receiving, as necessary to provide engineering support to MSD manufacturing, integration, and test activities. They provide accurate, timely responses to CRs submitted by various activities, as well as resolution for technical issues concerning maintenance, assists in preparation of any additional documentation required, i.e., LARs, DFSs, etc., and prepare sketches and/or drawings to support resolutions of CRs when required or by a contract.

• Regularly attend vessels during times of out of service or dry-docking. Work with warehouse personnel requesting fleet spare equipment be dispatched to support the upkeep of the vessels.
• Create PO’s/WO’s, review and close outstanding maintenance jobs, review/approve requisitions and review vessel reports.
• Work with buyers to assist in the purchasing of supplies. Complete POs of work performed, adjust and update financial information to allow for payment matching to the invoice.
• Develop maintenance and repair cost analysis sheets and monitor the budget. Assist in the development and modification of preventative maintenance plans for vessel equipment.
• Ensure the engineering procedures and policies are periodically reviewed, modified and implemented.
Qualifications
Education & Credentials:
• Bachelor’s degree in marine engineering or a related field; 10+ years in an engineering related field may be substituted in lieu of the educational requirements.
• USCG License and/or Maritime Academy graduate preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Marine Engineering, sailing onboard a vessel.
• Valid driver’s license, passport, and TWIC card.
Experience:
Candidates need to meet at least 1 of the following qualifications:
• Possess a minimum of three years’ experience as a Port Engineer having managed and negotiated at least two shipyard dry-docking availabilities with a value greater than $3 Million. Experience gained while employed by a shipyard or while serving active duty in the military may be applicable towards meeting this requirement if the duties and responsibilities of the positions are substantially the same as a Port Engineer. This experience shall demonstrate their ability to effectively manage and negotiate complex projects such as shipyard dry dock overhauls and other types of repairs.
• Possess a minimum of four years’ experience serving aboard Government or commercial ocean-going ships of not less than 4,000 HP as either a Chief Engineer or a First Assistant Engineer. This experience shall demonstrate effective management of maintenance and repair of ocean-going ships.
• A combination of education and experience gained while in the performance of duties that clearly demonstrate effective management of maintenance and repair of ocean-going ships.
Technical Skills:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Knowledgeable of NS-5 ship management software, computer technology and processes preferred.
Working Conditions:
Works both inside an office environment and outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders. Position Summary
The Mission Solutions Business Area (BA) AI Lead will serve as the lead AI strategist and practitioner across the Business Area, responsible for defining, aligning, and accelerating Artificial Intelligence strategy and execution across the Business Areas. This leader will drive mission-relevant, secure, and operationally deployable AI solutions that modernize intelligence tradecraft, accelerate mission software delivery, and deliver differentiated cyber and multi-INT capabilities at speed and scale.
The MSBA AI Lead will collaborate with the BA Chief Technology Officer (CTO), BA solution architects, line managers and growth leaders to drive AI enabled solutions into program and mission operations, captures, proposals, and non-traditional acquisitions. The MSBA AI Lead will proactively establish relationships and meet with current and potential customers to demonstrate the company’s credentials for solving problems with technically differentiated AI and advanced automation solutions. The MSBA AI Lead will partner with the broader Leidos Enterprise, AI research teams, and external partners to stay informed on and evangelize Leidos and industry’s AI capabilities, tailored to Mission Solutions Business Area audiences.

•Ensure AI capabilities are mission-aligned across Intelligence Production & Analyst Workflows, TCPED modernization, mission software automation, cyber operations, and Information Operations platforms.
•Partner with Solution Architects, Chief Architects, and Growth leaders to shape AI-infused solutions into captures and proposals.
•Demonstrate ready-now AI platforms ahead of RFP release and support OTAs, CSOs, and outcome-based acquisition models.
•Establish and maintain an AI Governance Framework ensuring secure and trusted AI deployment in classified and mission-critical environments.
•Ensure Responsible AI practices, model evaluation standards, lifecycle risk management, and Zero Trust alignment.
•Build and lead a community of AI practitioners across the Business Area, ensuring:
•Every senior technical leader is conversant and proficient in AI-enabled mission solutions
