Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Software Engineer - Embedded and Real Time to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located onsite in Melbourne, Florida.

Accomplish

In this role you will design, develop, integrate, modify and maintain customized or standardized embedded mission systems applications using software engineering best practices and standards, and participate in the full life-cycle of software development, to include requirements development, modeling and design, application development, unit to CSCI testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and maintenance.

Essential Functions:

  • Work in an innovative environment, on significantly diverse assignments, and in collaborative team settings across all levels

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 5 years of related experience; OR Masters degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of related experience; OR PhD with 1 year of related experience
  • Recent Demonstrated Professional Experience developing software and scripts in C, Object Oriented C++ AND/OR Python for Safety-Critical applications/Systems.
  • Recent Demonstrated Professional Experience performing software testing.

  • Familiar with architecting, Designing, Modeling (Rhapsody or Cameo), Implementing, Maintaining, integrating, Debugging, Verifying and Qualifying Safety-Critical Embedded Real Time Software written in OO C++ running on Real-Time Operating Systems such as: VxWorks, Integrity, AND/OR Real Time Embedded Linux.
  • Familiar with Static & Dynamic Code Analysis Tools and Fuzzing Tools such as: Coverity, Fortify, AND/OR SonarQube.
  • Familiar with Software Change Control, Change Management, and CI/CD tools such as: Atlassian tool suite, GitHub, GitLab, AND/OR Jenkins.
  • Active DoD Secret level clearance OR Top Secret (in-scope), with the ability to obtain (and maintain) special program access (PAR) prior to commencement of employment.

  • Strong understanding of C and C++ languages including templates, memory storage, and compiler/linker.
  • Ability to collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers and integration/test engineers to develop and maintain complex software systems.

Primary Level Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. You will lead the bring-up of avionics hardware into Linux. This includes owning the board support package (BSP), custom kernel work, device trees, bootloaders, and the low-level drivers that expose our hardware to the OS. You’ll define and build the infrastructure that lets us deploy and validate these systems across flight computers, radios, and payload processors. You’ll also create internal tools to exercise hardware in the lab and on the production floor, enabling fast debug and reliable manufacturing.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Represent software and firmware concerns in cross-disciplinary product development
  • Lead Linux bring-up for new avionics hardware from first power-on through delivery of a stable OS image
  • Develop and maintain board support packages, bootloaders, kernel configurations, and low-level drivers
  • Build internal tools as needed to enable fast hardware validation in the lab and on the production floor
  • Communicate technical risks, schedule impacts, and integration status to program teams

Job Summary

As the company’s Deputy Chief Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing space, ground and network systems and technologies that perform cutting-edge, high performance space missions. Our systems provide critical capabilities to national security and scientific missions. The function of the Deputy Chief Engineer is to augment the Chief Engineer by performing independent review of our designs as well as help guide technology development. This could come via formal design reviews, engineering review boards, risk meetings, or informal meetings such as to help trade ideas and perform make/buy decisions.

The ideal candidate has significant experience in the development and production of space systems and has learned lessons from their usage on orbit. Such experience must be cross-disciplinary, including EMI, RF, electronics, GNC, structures, systems engineering, manufacturing, assembly, test and on-orbit operations. Methods to perform value stream mapping, “lean out” processes, and improve the flow should be in the candidate’s toolbox. The candidate must be able to coalesce information, distill it, and come to recommendations for technical solutions, while balancing reasonable cost and schedule pressures. The candidate must be well-versed developing briefings and presenting to high level company officials and government sponsors. The candidate should be comfortable at finding compromises between customer desires and requirements. The ideal candidate has experience with proposals and estimating levels of effort for development.

SUMMARY AND PURPOSE

Schneider is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to serve in a dual capacity: backend administration of Microsoft 365 technologies and hands-on, customer-focused IT support for our end users.

Microsoft 365 & Cloud Administration

  • Administer and support the full Microsoft 365 suite, including Teams, SharePoint, and Entra (Azure AD)
